One-to-one Crochet Workshop

Join a Hobbycraft Colleague in store for a one-to-one and ask any questions you have about Crochet

1 hour Class size 1 on 1       £28

Join a Hobbycraft Colleague in store for a One-to-one and ask any questions you have about crochet. Stuck on a project? Need help with understanding a pattern? Trying to get to grips with a new stitch? Our craft expert will share tips and techniques tailored to you.

This is suitable for crocheters looking for that next step on from our Beginners' Workshops, providing the opportunity to get all the answers you need. It’s a great way to gain confidence with your craft, troubleshoot any problems you’re having with your current project in an easy, direct way or learn about stitches you’re not as confident with yet.

During the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to let your Artisan know what you would like to focus on during the session. They’ll be able to prepare for a personalised workshop that answers all of your questions.

You’re sure to walk away a crochet pro, ready to take your designs to a new level!

Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Keeping everyone safe

At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

  • 5/5 from Freya, attended Jan 2025: This workshop was bought for my daughter as a Christmas present but I also enjoyed tagging along by paying the additional £5. Ebony, the teacher, was superb - she was patient and so knowledgeable. She had a genuine enthusiasm for crocheting. My daughter could ask all the questions she liked and she found out plenty so it really felt like good value. We brought our own materials but we liked the look of the yarn she was using, so we bought some after the workshop - I have already tried using it and it is really lovely yarn. She let us choose what we wanted to do and she made suggestions.
  • 5/5 from Katrina Livesey, attended Nov 2024: Very good - super freebies came with the course. My tutor was so patient and kind and very easy to talk with. The instructions/tuition was fabulous. Would recommend for anyone starting crochet

  • 5/5 from Caley Wilks, attended Jul 2024: Bought as a present. My daughter really enjoyed her crochet one to one course with ebony. She explained/demonstrated really well and was so friendly. My daughter is so excited to continue her new found skills in crochet with the wool we received as an extra for the course. Would definitely recommend and hopefully do a different class in the future.
  • 5/5 from Dawn Lake, attended Jan 2024: The person who took me was really amazing, she was very patient and kept on showing me what to do. I have actually learnt how to do a magic ring which is what I went to do. I highly recommend going on the one to one crochet course it's amazing
  • 5/5 from Laura Hall, attended Dec 2023: Lovely, helpful staff. Very ‘hands on’ assistance for me & my 10 year old daughter, we got a bag of materials also that I wasn’t expecting.
  • 5/5 from Lisa Docking, attended Dec 2023: Teacher was amazing. She knew her stuff and was very patient. The materials I received were the same from my previous crochet workshop but it's ok I can use them. The setting was in the middle of the store which probably would have been better in a private room as customers kept interrupting. I've learned how to read a pattern, do a magic ring and have started on a Amigurumi project.
  • 5/5 from Erin, attended Oct 2023: Absolutely fabulous, the tutor was so patient and helpful. We will definitely be booking another course with her.
  • 5/5 from Lisa Vaughan, attended Oct 2023: Ebony was so helpful and patient with me which I'm sure was a challenge as I am left handed. The starter kit I was provided with was ideal for practicing with. Really enjoyed the session and will be booking another one
  • 5/5 from Glenda Stainrod, attended Sep 2023: Thoroughly enjoyed my session with Ebony. She helped me to understand the pattern I wanted to do. I also learnt a better way of stitching the granny squares together. Will probably have another session with her when I’ve progressed! Thought the cost of the session was reasonable and was thrilled with my hobbies bag. A very pleasant and easy atmosphere to learn in.
  • 5/5 from Sarah Robinson, attended Aug 2023: Ebony was great! Patient kind and understanding. she showed me 3 different stitches and gave me feed back on each. Workshop was vaulue for money and I will be going back when I am further along for help with the next step. Big thank you
  • 5/5 from Cheryl Bryant, attended May 2023: Ebony was a very patient and kind instructor. She helped me perfectly with everything I needed to know regarding my knitting pattern, and I left the workshop feeling much more confident to finish my project. The venue was held in the store but was not in the least distracting as it was held in a quiet little area. I received a free ball of wool and some knitting needles, which although I didn't really need, I still welcomed. For a one hour one-to-one class, I thought it was reasonable value for money. I would definitely book a class again.
  • 5/5 from Jennifer Whale, attended May 2023: Was impressed with Ebony. Her patient manner was excellent and her knowledge and ability to communicate my concerns made me feel at ease.A lovely hours tuition and would not hesitate to come again
  • 4/5 from Margaret Barron, attended May 2023: I attended the one to one class to learn how to change colours during knitting as it was something I hadn't done before, I was taught 2 ways and decided on the second one of cutting the wool and using it on bobbins. The teacher was great and patient, I used my own wool and continued this when I got home, within a couple of hours I had completed the star that I couldn't do when I went in. Good lesson.
