One-to-one Crochet Workshop

Join a Hobbycraft Colleague in store for a one-to-one and ask any questions you have about Crochet

1 hour Class size 1 on 1       £28

Join a Hobbycraft Colleague in store for a One-to-one and ask any questions you have about crochet. Stuck on a project? Need help with understanding a pattern? Trying to get to grips with a new stitch? Our craft expert will share tips and techniques tailored to you.

This is suitable for crocheters looking for that next step on from our Beginners' Workshops, providing the opportunity to get all the answers you need. It’s a great way to gain confidence with your craft, troubleshoot any problems you’re having with your current project in an easy, direct way or learn about stitches you’re not as confident with yet.

During the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to let your Artisan know what you would like to focus on during the session. They’ll be able to prepare for a personalised workshop that answers all of your questions.

You’re sure to walk away a crochet pro, ready to take your designs to a new level!

Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Keeping everyone safe

At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

  • 2/5 from Nicola James, attended Aug 2026: It was a fairly disappointing experience overall. The teacher didn’t seem particularly engaging with my 11-year-old or communicate very much with her. She watched her complete the stitches she already knew how to do, but didn’t really introduce her to any new techniques or actively encourage or guide her. As this had been a birthday gift, we had hoped it would feel like a special and enjoyable experience and that she would come away having learnt something new. Instead, she essentially completed three rows of stitches she already knew, which understandably wasn’t particularly exciting for an 11-year-old. It would have been far better to help her make something fun or interesting. The environment also didn’t help. The store was absolutely freezing, so she was very cold throughout, and the only time slot we had been offered was 12pm, which is obviously lunchtime and not ideal for a child. All in all, we came away feeling pretty disappointed. We had really hoped for a much more engaging, encouraging and enjoyable experience, particularly given that it was a birthday present. We won’t be booking another.
  • 5/5 from Carol-Ann Peddar, attended Feb 2026: Louise was very good, she explained everything clearly and was polite and professional. Would recommend.
  • 5/5 from Lynette Mann, attended Oct 2025: Chloe was friendly and helped immensely with the instructions to a pattern I was trying to follow. She also gave me some very helpful crochet tips. I certainly would recommend these classes to anyone who is just starting or needs that little bit of extra help.
  • 5/5 from Lesley Heasman, attended Jul 2025: Chloe gave me a good hour learning to read a crochet pattern. I’d had this for years and only got to row 3! It was time well spent and I would definitely recommend this for updating your skills.
  • 5/5 from Celia Coates, attended Feb 2025: Chloe was very patient with giving my granddaughter her first crochet lesson. She guided her through several of the stitches and made helpful suggestions of the next steps.
  • 5/5 from Shereen Jenkins, attended Dec 2024: Teacher was very patient and encouraging in what I was trying to accomplish. The added tips and tricks, and ideas for next stages were appreciated. Very happy.
  • 4/5 from Sophia, attended Dec 2024: After another hour I still haven’t got my Christmas granny square bauble finished, unfortunately. Just shows the 1.5 hours given for the workshop really was not enough time.
  • 5/5 from Sharon Crossey, attended Nov 2024: I booked a 1-1 Crochet lesson with Chloe, to learn some new stitches and improve my techniques for a straight edge. I thoroughly enjoy the session and the time flew by. I learned everything I had wanted to during that time. Chloe was very patient and great with explaining clearly. She was very friendly and kept checking that I had understood her instructions. I will definitely be booking more sessions.
  • 5/5 from Laura Bruno, attended Nov 2024: Chloe was very enthusiastic and an excellent tutor. She made crochet look very simple and fun to try. The hour flew by and I left Hobbycraft willing to persevere with crochet as I would like to go back for more tuition once I am more confident with the basic stitches. Thank you.
  • 5/5 from Jacqueline Matthews, attended Nov 2024: Great teacher (Chole) very patient and clearly showed me what to do- crochet introduction. Also gave lots of tips- so take a note pad!
  • 5/5 from Helen, attended Oct 2024: My daughter did a 1:1 crochet session with Chloe at the Eastbourne store today. She learnt how to make a granny square and has not stopped making them since! Chloe was extremely helpful and patient, and explained everything really clearly. My daughter enjoyed the session and was very pleased with her first ever granny square! Great value for money and we’ll absolutely book more workshops and recommend them to others too. Thank you Chloe!
  • 5/5 from Vanessa, attended Sep 2024: Chloe was brilliant, so talented, funny and made the session really enjoyable, she made us feel very relaxed and helped us improve on our basic crochet knowledge!
  • 5/5 from Rachael Marshall, attended Aug 2024: My ten year old daughter had a lesson with Chloe today in crochet. She could already do a chain but struggled to learn past that. In the hour we were there she came away knowing many different stitches! Chloe was very patient and explained the processes thoroughly.. so much so that I've got home and can crochet, just from watching! And I've never been able to. Great workshop. Thanks so much
  • 5/5 from Liz Purkis, attended Jul 2024: Teacher Chloe was relaxed and friendly and spent time familiarising herself with the pattern and ways to solve it. The venue was relaxed and other people were able to peek at what we are doing which I didn't mind. I learnt that there are very individual ways to write patterns and sometimes its not my inadequacies but something I just have to learn! I also learnt a secure way of changing colour. I think it was good value - it was totally led by my needs, and that was what I liked best
  • 5/5 from I Smith, attended Mar 2024: Cloe showed me the basic crochet, the differences in patterns and how to read them. Very nice person puts you at ease. Good teacher and value for money.
  • 5/5 from Gill Cole, attended Nov 2023: Teacher patient and easy to follow learned how to do basics of crochet I think really good value for money Tailored to my ability and needs Would recommend
  • 5/5 from Denise Russell, attended Jul 2023: Very helpful and patient teacher! Lots to learn as I'm a complete beginner, felt it was a good start and good value!
