One-to-one Cricut Workshop

Join us in store and talk to a craft expert for tips and advice on your Cricut machine or project!

1 hour Class size 1 on 1       £28

Join a Hobbycraft Colleague one-to-one and ask any questions you have about your Cricut machine! Stuck on a project? Need help with Design Space? Trying to get to grips with using a new material? Our craft expert will share tips and techniques tailored to you.

This is suitable for all Cricut users, providing the opportunity to get all the answers you need about your machine. Whether you’re crafting with a Maker, a Joy, Joy Xtra or an Explore machine, you’ll be able to get excellent insight for all kinds of projects. It’s a great way to get a feel for your new machine or learn about features you’re not as confident with yet.
During the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to let your Hobbycraft Colleague know what you would like to focus on during the session. They’ll be able to prepare for a personalised workshop that answers all of your questions.
You’re sure to walk away a Cricut crafting pro, ready to start making your next big project!

Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Please note: If you would like to discuss the Foil Transfer Tool, Knife Blade, “Print Then Cut” feature, “Curved Text” feature or “Offset” we would recommend that you book on to one of our online one-to-one Cricut workshop sessions as we are currently unable to demonstrate these features in-store due to them being for the desktop version of Design Space only.

Please note, our workshop spaces in some stores are located in open areas and we will endeavour to minimise interruption from other crafters.

Keeping everyone safe

At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

  • 5/5 from Karen, attended Sep 2026: Holly was an amazing teacher, so patient and answered all our questions. The course was hands on so we got to experience, experiment and practice using a Cricut machine. I was a complete beginner and didn’t have a machine but went away with my very own new Cricut machine. I’d highly recommend this course.
  • 4/5 from C Kwok, attended Aug 2026: The workshop was good and the teacher very knowledgeable and friendly. However it was let down by poor logitistics. Firstly they had to find a chair for me to sit on (I have difficulty standing). Then the table with the machines on was at a height meant for use by people standing hence it was a bit too tall for me. Finally it was lucky I had brought my iPad along as there wasn't one at the venue which meant they had to use my iPad to work the machines.
  • 5/5 from Julie Deacon, attended Jun 2026: Holly was very informative and explained everything calmly, she took her time and no question was too difficult for her to answer
  • 5/5 from Sarah Armstrong, attended Apr 2026: Holly was great!!! Very knowledgeable, friendly, and very good at explaining and demonstrating.. thank so much
  • 5/5 from Nicola Parsons, attended Apr 2026: I really enjoyed my one to one Cricut workshop today. Found out where I was going wrong when trying to make certain projects. Would definitely book another. Only issue is workshop was on the shop floor and get interrupted by customers wanting to ask questions, this is not the fault of the person running the workshop.
  • 5/5 from Sue Barham, attended Jan 2026: I had a one-to-one session on Cricut Joy Xtra with Holly at Hobby Craft Basingstoke. She was friendly and knowledgeable and gave me confidence to use my Cricut machine. She was amazing! Thoroughly recommend her. It was easy to buy the Virgin Experience gift voucher and to redeem it
  • 5/5 from Jo Monger, attended Jan 2026: Really helpful, patient and friendly- Steph was great, she was easy to get in with very knowledgeable and explained well
  • 5/5 from Janet Goddard, attended Nov 2025: Holly was brilliant she was so knowledgeable about the Cricut Explore 4 and answered all the questions I had during the class
  • 5/5 from Colin Vernon, attended Oct 2025: I had an excellent in-store 1-2-1 about Cricut software and devices today with a very knowledgeable teacher (initial "H"). I am new to both Cricut and cutting, and wanted to know what the devices are capable of doing, how to get started and to see the results in real life. I asked lots and lots of questions and my teacher knew every answer and gave me lots of helpful tips and lots of advice. We did some demos, then went through the differences between the devices, the cutting mats, the cutting heads, the blades and the different types of materials that can be cut, and the importance of setting up the software to match the material and thickness (GSM) of the material. Altogether a fabulous workshop and I got a lot more in depth information than I was expecting. Thank you. I'd highly recommend this workshop if you want to find out lots of information about these devices.
  • 4/5 from Rebecca Jocelyn, attended May 2025: This was great i am considering getting a machine and this was great I got to see them in action try the soft ware All my questions where answered and she did a great job at relating everything to the projects I want it for and how they would suit my needs Wish I had a good enough memory to remember the teachers name as she was great
  • 5/5 from Tessy Nwandu, attended Mar 2025: Many thanks to my amazing teacher. She was full of knowledge and expertise. Gave the leverage that I sorted for, which has got me going. I have been able to reproduce what she taught and two more different projects just by her explanations. I would highly recommend this class to newbies and to those seeking to upgrade their skills. Hoping to join the online classes ASAP. Tessy

It was very informative, relaxed and gave me the confidence to feel that I would be able to successfully use the Cricut. I was able to have a go at some of the techniques and was assured that help could be provided in the future if I needed it. Thank you so much.
  • 5/5 from Vivian, attended Jan 2024: George was fantastically knowledgeable about the cricut machine and all the consumables. I can't wait to get started!
  • 4/5 from Ray Hill, attended Jan 2024: Steph was very friendly and helpful. She explained things clearly and answered all my questions.
  • 3/5 from Donna Still, attended Jan 2024: I’m really disappointed to be honest. Felt it was a waste of time and money. Whilst Steph was lovely she wasn’t prepared as didn’t know what we were there for and I haven’t learnt anymore than i already knew. I was specific in my enquiry that I wanted to make wedding invitations but my daughter (who attended with me) told her more than she told us. I also said about foiling in my enquiry and was told they would be able to point me in the right direction to find the info but actually other than YouTube and Cricut Learn which I already use I didn’t get anything further. Steph hasn’t done foiling. I’m very disappointed and no further forward in my knowledge. I fell I coujd have just continued to scroll through hours of you tube videos to get the info.

  • 5/5 from Stacey Emerson, attended Sep 2023: Emily was lovely and a great help. I actually purchased the Cricut joy xtra the next day as she was there to help me with my needs and not just try and sell me the most expensive machines, like some companies do.
  • 5/5 from Cerys Brooks, attended Jul 2023: Staff member was very friendly and helpful. Found this very useful for beginners starting out.

She demonstrated her in-depth Cricut knowledge during our session and shared lots of useful tips. I felt inspired and went home to create my first vinyl project (taking on board her suggestions). Can't wait to try some other cricut projects now! Also great to know I can pop into store and ask the team about any queries I might have. Thanks again George and the amazing team at Hobbycraft Basingstoke (always smiling and friendly when I come into store)
  • 5/5 from Carol Reed, attended Feb 2023: Emily was fabulous! Her knowledge and experience was evident in her demonstrations and when answering questions. She was delightfully down to earth and offered to help with any questions I had on subsequent projects with a bit of notice. This is the third course I’ve done with Hobbycraft who with their courses and in store have mastered recruiting amazing, informed, enthusiastic and incredibly helpful staff. Emily is an exceptional asset to Hobbycraft. Thank you

  • 5/5 from Stephanie Bone, attended Dec 2022: Lucy was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. She also gave me a lot of good ideas. The only thing I found a bit daunting was we were in the middle of the shop and one customer decided to tell me her about her cricut journey which was distracting. I cannot fault Lucy very knowledgeable helpful and professional.
  • 5/5 from Sarah Prosser, attended Oct 2022: The tutorial with George and Emily was very informative, their knowledge on the Cricut products and advice was superb. Its great to see that they had passion in using the products personally which showed on the training. Great girls. Thank you.

  • 5/5 from Julie Grand, attended Aug 2022: Lucy my instructor was friendly, instructive, practical and a great blend of competent and encouraging. The store was quiet and we had the abiliaty to use a number of Cricut machines. A good time spent with questions I had with me and those which arose from our discussions during the workshop. Really good, would highly recommend. Thank you
  • 5/5 from Beccy Edsforth, attended May 2022: This was such a helpful class. Ben was really knowledgeable and had lots of really practical advice for getting the best out of the machine. I’d definitely recommend this if you are new to cricut!
  • 5/5 from Marion Jones, attended Apr 2022: Liam was lovely. Apologise as he didn’t know much about the joy. As the person who would have taken class had to swap their days. But in all honesty he was brilliant we went through design space cut out and use iron on glitter and infuse inks making a cushion for jubilee.
  • 5/5 from Lyz Thomson, attended Apr 2022: My teacher was knowledgeable and went through everything I asked in the time allowed. He gave me lots of tips and then helped me purchase the blanks that I wanted for my crafts. My first class and I will be back for more!
  • 5/5 from Laura Kerwood, attended Mar 2022: Very helpful, Lousie was really good. I would highly recommend the course I think you need a sign up saying course in progress for other customers in the store
  • 5/5 from Sue Rogers, attended Mar 2022: The instructions given to me were very helpful the instructors listen to what I needed to know and responded between the two of them very knowledgeable Was definitely worth doing
  • 5/5 from Helen Abrahams, attended Feb 2022: Excellent value for money. Ben covered so much ground and squeezed so much into an hour. He was very knowledgeable and pleasant company. His passion for crafting was obvious. On a previous visit Ben helped me to decide which maker to buy, he really knows his stuff.
  • 5/5 from Kirsty Kelley, attended Feb 2022: Ben was great at the Basingstoke store and showed me how to use design space and new materials such as the iron on vinyl. He was able to answer all my vast list of questions and made some useful suggestions on how to progress projects I was stuck on. Would highly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Angela Nash, attended Feb 2022: Attending the one to one workshop was in itself a good idea. As normal I was greeted on arrival and my tutor arrived quickly after an in house call. The actual place of tutoring is not good. Nearing eighty I was not impressed at having to stand whilst the info was explained. Luckily for me Ben quickly assessed the situation and found a chair but then I was much lower than the counter and unable to see the workings. Talking through my expectations, the machine etc it quickly became apparent that the Cricut was not suitable for me. The manager and Ben resolved the situation without any angst for which I am most grateful. In closing I would say that I have always found the staff at Hobbycraft Basingstoke willing, happy and informative and always look forward to my visits to the store.
  • 4/5 from Jennifer O'Brien, attended Feb 2022: Liam was brilliant and made it easy to understand There was a lot to remember and will maybe have to revisit at a later stage We covered all the areas I felt I needed help with and also learned about new opportunities too Thank you Liam

  • 5/5 from Rachel Belbin, attended Dec 2021: Holly was great! She really listened to my needs and adapted the session to suit that - very helpful - lots of hints and tips! Thank you! Only thing to improve would be if there was a seating area as long time to stand.
