Join a Hobbycraft Colleague one-to-one and ask any questions you have about your Cricut machine! Stuck on a project? Need help with Design Space? Trying to get to grips with using a new material? Our craft expert will share tips and techniques tailored to you.

This is suitable for all Cricut users, providing the opportunity to get all the answers you need about your machine. Whether you’re crafting with a Maker, a Joy, Joy Xtra or an Explore machine, you’ll be able to get excellent insight for all kinds of projects. It’s a great way to get a feel for your new machine or learn about features you’re not as confident with yet.
During the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to let your Hobbycraft Colleague know what you would like to focus on during the session. They’ll be able to prepare for a personalised workshop that answers all of your questions.
You’re sure to walk away a Cricut crafting pro, ready to start making your next big project!

Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Please note: If you would like to discuss the Foil Transfer Tool, Knife Blade, “Print Then Cut” feature, “Curved Text” feature or “Offset” we would recommend that you book on to one of our online one-to-one Cricut workshop sessions as we are currently unable to demonstrate these features in-store due to them being for the desktop version of Design Space only.

Please note, our workshop spaces in some stores are located in open areas and we will endeavour to minimise interruption from other crafters.

Keeping everyone safe

At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

  • 5/5 from Priscilla Blake, attended May 2026: The young girl was called Shauna I think but she was absolutely amazing and she had another lady called Claire who was helping and learning who was amazing too. Shauna’s knowledge of the circut maker 4 was unbelievable- a first class credit to Hobbycraft. I will definitely go back again

  • 5/5 from Christine Weston, attended Dec 2025: I would thoroughly recommend the Cricut tutorial with Shelia. A very relaxed session which taught me that I can produce the project I set out to :-). Shelia's calm, friendly nature really helped. A very enjoyable session.
  • 5/5 from Michelle Belakhumpidge, attended Nov 2025: This was my second workshop with Shauna and what can I say, except “outstanding”! She was as enthusiastic, kind and helpful as she was on the first occasion and I have learnt so much from her. I don’t know if she receives a commission when customers buy a cricut machine but she should - When I buy mine it will be as a direct result of her work and knowledge.
  • 5/5 from Christine Weston, attended Nov 2025: Very enjoyable session. Shelia pitched the tutorial to my level, was friendly and gave lots of tips to hopefully help me use my Cricut machine with more confidence.
  • 5/5 from Dawn Dunkin, attended Oct 2025: My one to one Cricut class was very interesting and I really enjoyed it! Alice was very good explaining all the different things it does and how to go about them. Also was a big help knowing which machine to get as to what you would like to be making.Great class!I would do another one.
  • 5/5 from Michelle Belak Humpidge, attended Oct 2025: I cannot speak highly enough of Shauna. She is so knowledgable, but also incredibly helpful and keen to go the extra mile to help me learn the skills to achieve the quite complicated project I had in mind. Honestly, if Hobbycraft management is reading this, she deserves a promotion!
  • 5/5 from Anna-Marie Balzan, attended Aug 2025: Absolutely fantastic one to one Cricut workshop, Shauna was so knowledgeable in the Bournemouth store and answered all my questions taking me through my questions on lots of types of projects doing demos to explain. Thankyou!
  • 5/5 from Emma Eaton, attended Jul 2025: Alice was amazing. She was so knowledgable about the circut and talked us through it all from the very beginning. She was patient and gave great tips on how to reuse materials instead of wasting. Both my daughter and I felt we learnt so much that we wanted to go straight home and start trying it out. Please pass on our extreme thanks to Alice.
  • 5/5 from Julie Bushell, attended Jul 2025: Very informative. Alice was great explaining everything clearly to absolute beginners, she was helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend. Thank you
  • 5/5 from Jill Wotherspoon, attended Jul 2025: My workshop with Shauna on my Cricut Maker 3 machine was really helpful and she went through with great patience the finer details of what I was either doing wrong or not doing. I would have no hesitation in booking another workshop with her for further help and advice. She is very competent and a great asset to Hobbycraft.
  • 5/5 from Caroline Whiteman, attended Mar 2025: Shauna was great and helped with all my questions I now feel confident in using my cricut!
  • 5/5 from Barbara Avery, attended Feb 2025: I wanted to find out how to use a Cricut and which one was most suitable for my plans. Alison went through everything with me and helped me understand how it worked. She was very friendly and put me at ease, making it easy for me to ask questions. It was a very enjoyable and informative hour with Alison who has a very natural way of teaching. I would gladly go back again if I needed any more help..
  • 4/5 from Donna Cook, attended Dec 2024: I needed to get to grips with Cricut basics so booked myself a 1-1 session. I learned set up, design creation and manipulation (although, having now seen it in practice, involves some skills I already had but didn’t know they fit in with DesignMaker. The tutor was great, very friendly and knowledgeable and we had a few laughs along the way. She listened to my ideas and concerns and helped me develop confidence to start working with my machine now I’ve seen it in practice (I found it much more beneficial than YouTube!) and we even used some of the smart stencil medium which was new to us both, the tutor never having used it before. My only real concern was that, having booked it online, the system didn’t alert the store to my booking so they weren’t ready when I arrived. This is no reflection on store staff as they pulled out all the stops to get everything ready and, although we started late, I still got my full hour. It’s for this reason I’m giving 4 stars as the online booking system very much let down the tutor, the other store staff who helped get everything up and running, and the store itself, which has a very friendly, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, even in the days before Christmas when they are very busy.
  • 5/5 from Mandy Woodford, attended Nov 2024: Shauna was friendly and explained things clearly. She was also very patient when I needed to ask her to repeat things
  • 5/5 from Debbie Patterson, attended Oct 2024: Found the Cricut 1 to 1 very good. Alice was able to help me with a couple of issues I had been having. Was definitely worth doing and as its tailored to you I would do it again.
  • 5/5 from Alan Wotherspoon, attended Oct 2024: I had a one to one workshop with Shauna at your Ferndown Branch. She was excellent and very patient. I am in my 70's and my uptake on new information is not as quick as with younger people and Shauna was very understanding and didn't make me feel as if I was wasting her time and even said she was there when I get home if I needed any more help. So much so that when I got home I set my Cricut Maker 3 machine up and got started straight way. Thank you Shauna.
  • 5/5 from Vicky Johnson, attended Aug 2024: Shauna was helpful and made it easy for me to understand. I’m hoping to book another 1-1 with her to gain more confidence.
  • 5/5 from Kimberley Johnson, attended Aug 2024: Hobbycraft Bournemouth 1st class. Cricit maker 3 tutorial. Firstly Shauna our tutor was excellent, patient and knowledgeable. Didnt mind when a random question was ask which was great. I would definitely recommend having a class there if you are not confident in whatever you are taking up. Maybe now ours can actually come out of the box. Thankyou Shauna and all the staff at Bournemouth hobbycraft. see you soon.
  • 5/5 from Gemma Hutchins, attended Aug 2024: A great workshop with lots of good tips on how to get started with my own projects. Thank you.
  • 5/5 from Sarah Turner, attended Jun 2024: The workshop was all about Cricut machines. Alice was really informative and a great teacher. A really helpful and enjoyable workshop.
  • 5/5 from Kim Bailey, attended Apr 2024: I had no idea how to go about using my newly bought Cricut machine. Shauna was very patient, friendly and knowledgeable
  • 5/5 from Mary Foster, attended Apr 2024: So informative and she was so full of knowledge so patient and answered all my questions. She’s a real asset to hobbies I have one thing to ask that a new rotary blade be available as we did a demo on material which was a main point I wanted to clarify. Also the website didn’t give you the option to digress to ask for this as the lady may have been able to have ready. She showed me however and was brilliant just wanted to point out for ant web updates. Thank you so much really enjoyed and will be back.
  • 5/5 from Rebecca Sque, attended Mar 2024: Shauna was really helpful and gave me lots of tips and helped me get my head around the bits I was struggling with on Cricut Design. She also gave me advice on the tools and materials I needed for my projects which was great. Thank you
  • 5/5 from Stephanie Selwyn, attended Mar 2024: After watching various online videos on how to use Cricut machines I was left with a whole lot of questions that were not covered in the demonstration. I booked a one to one at the Bournemouth Hobbycraft and spent a hour with a very knowledgeable member so staff who answered all my questions and showed me how to do the things that I was interested in. The demo was mostly for the Cricut Joy Extra. One thing I hadn't realised was you have to pay either a monthly or annual fee to access the Cricut design space and pay extra to use most of the items displayed. Now I have research to do as I would be an occasional user or to stick with my Sizzix and limit my makes.
  • 5/5 from Helen Rideout, attended Mar 2024: I found this class extremely helpful, I bought a cricut maker 3 and did have a clue how to use it. The workshop was well worth the money and I would pay it again to learn even more.
  • 5/5 from Debbie Styles, attended Jan 2024: Very good lesson, teacher was excellent, worth the money, hopefully I’ll be able to do it at home
  • 5/5 from Victoria Ball, attended Jan 2024: Such a great lesson and really informative :) I feel much more confident with my machine and excited to start using it
  • 5/5 from Alan Wotherspoon, attended Jan 2024: We had a workshop with Shauna at Bournemouth on the Glowforge Pro laser cutter. This is the third workshop with her and we found her to be patient, encouraging and very knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble, we have now bought the machine and are looking forward to using it.
  • 5/5 from Laura Simpson-Hall, attended Jan 2024: Shiela my teacher was brilliant. When I received the Joy for Christmas, I discovered that Cricut themselves provide very little guidance on materials, uses and methods in the box and the Design Space lessons are very overwhelming for my learning style. Shiela was able to go through everything with me, demo different machine capabilities and recommend books and materials for everything I am hoping to achieve and let me have a go too. I feel much better about giving it a go and getting to grips with it all now.
  • 5/5 from Heather Kenyon, attended Jan 2024: As I had only just received my Cricut Explore 3 for Christmas I wanted to find out more about the design space. Sheila was very thorough and went through everything I wanted to learn. She demonstrated how to use this with card, vinyl and iron-on vinyl. I now feel more confident in using the machine and am going to be practicing all Sheila taught me. I would recommend the class to anyone new to Cricut.
  • 5/5 from Donna Cutler-Ridout, attended Dec 2023: Lovely lady, showed me exactly what I asked for- basics of design space/Cricut maker3. Very friendly & let me have a go myself.
  • 5/5 from Esmarie Jones, attended Dec 2023: Shona was GREAT and the teaching was perfect. Customer lead and she answered all my questions I had. It was interactive, with the appropriate materials available. It's a bit odd to have training in a public place, but understandably as this is good to promote more interest in the Crafts and training available in-store. Thanks Shona
  • 5/5 from Miss Susan Burton, attended Oct 2023: Claire was assigned to work with me 1:1 using the Cricut Joy. She showed me how I can download my own picture and then print it on vinyl to make a decal for my campervan. Next she showed me how to make cards. Her knowledge was invaluable. I found her to be an articulate tutor and she worked with me at my own pace. She also gave me some 'tips & tricks' which again has proved very useful. I thoroughly recommend doing a 1:1 workshop and in particular having one with Claire. Thank you very much.
  • 5/5 from Karyn, attended Aug 2023: My one to one Cricut workshop was extremely helpful today. Sheila was a great teacher! I am a beginner with the Cricut Explore 3 and I have learnt how to do text, writing with Cricut pens on cards & inside cards, group/ungroup letters, make tags, use ‘combine & attach’ & ‘weld’ with images on Design Space. Sheila was very patient & repeated the information when I needed her too. There were a few problems with “machine interference” which interrupted the lesson so Sheila kindly gave me extra time. The workshop was worthwhile & worth every penny! I wouldn’t hesitate in booking another one to learn more about Cricut! Thank you!
  • 5/5 from Becky Gray, attended Jul 2023: Great value for money with a knowledgeable teacher allowing me to learn what I wanted, pus some extras! I had a cricut workshop to learn how to do iron on designs with the Joy, and also learnt a technique using the pen. I have been able to use what I learnt at home so am sure the lesson was useful and didn't go in one ear and out the other!
  • 5/5 from Jade Axtell, attended Jul 2023: Thank you Shauna for going through the cricut explore 3 with me today From Jade
  • 5/5 from Emma Ginger, attended Jul 2023: Sheila was the best teacher, she was patient and went though as much as she could in the hour allotted time. If I have any further questions I know exactly where to go. Thank you
  • 5/5 from Louise Brown, attended Jun 2023: Fantastic! Everything was explained clearly and I am so happy that I now know how to use my machine!
  • 5/5 from Katie Travers, attended Jun 2023: Shauna was great, very knowledgeable, kind and patient, very good demonstration, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
