Discover the art of sculpting in this animal sculpture clay workshop, where you’ll spend a creative day learning to model a realistic animal from clay. Guided by specialist figurative sculptor Miranda, you’ll explore the fundamentals of form, proportion, and texture as you bring your chosen creature -- whether a cat, dog, hare, fox, or even a dragon to life.
This class is perfect for complete beginners -- no sculpting experience is needed. Miranda’s calm, step-by-step approach makes the process enjoyable and accessible, ensuring everyone feels confident, supported, and inspired throughout the day.
What to expect:
  • Learn the essential skills for sculpting lifelike animals in clay.
  • Follow demonstrations on building form, capturing expression, and adding detail.
  • Use a range of reference materials including photos, templates, and examples.
  • Receive one-to-one guidance tailored to your chosen animal -- if you have a specific creature in mind, Miranda can help prepare references in advance.
By the end of the session, you’ll have created your own expressive clay sculpture to take home, along with the skills and confidence to keep developing your craft.
