My name is Odile and I am the jewellery artist behind @odileandthebijoubox.
I started making jewellery in 2002 for the pleasure and decided in 2013 (after years of teaching French in a 6th form college) to go back to Paris for a year and train at the BJOP, rue du Louvre, to become a qualified jeweller.
I make contemporary silver jewellery to wear every day, simple stacking rings or special one-off pieces created with you in mind. I love working on new projects and I am at the bench every day! I see jewellery as a form of visual art but it always has to be wearable to make sense to me, it fits around your finger, your wrist and it becomes part of you. It has to be comfortable and complement you. Precious but not ostentatious, discreet but visible, I like my pieces to be individual, strong and feminine with an overall natural and authentic elegance.
My inspiration comes from the metal itself. It is natural, organic, strong, flexible, versatile... I love the toned colours of gold and silver, used separately or together, modified with hammering, texturing, time and wear.
