I encountered my first circular sock machine at CountryFile live at Blenheim palace in the summer of 2018. A nice chap had a stall selling yarn and he had a machine set up. He was doing a demonstration. I was fascinated by this wonderful piece of victorian engineering. Later that year, I decided to find out more and attended a one to one lesson with Anne Drew at Cymbal Knits.I managed to make a decent pair of socks in a day and I was hooked. Later that month, I bought my first circular sock machine. It took a good 6 months to prefect making socks. I now make socks on a regular basis and sell the socks along with hot water bottles at local craft fairs.
