I’ve always found my happy place with a needle and thread. My love of making started young, learning to knit with my grandma, and grew as I taught myself cross stitch, hand sewing and embroidery. Creativity has been a constant companion ever since.I later studied Textiles at degree level, where I explored a wide range of textile techniques before finding my way back to the slower, more mindful practices I loved most, especially hand embroidery. There’s something timeless about them, and I never get tired of sharing that feeling with others.In 2015, I founded Natalie Gaynor Designs during a big life shift, when stitching became a way to calm my mind and reconnect with myself after my youngest child started school. What started quietly has grown into a small business creating embroidered artwork, kits, and my favourite part, delivering hand embroidery workshops. I have had the pleasure of working with corporate clients such as Bruntwood Sci-Tech on a collaborative art piece and open workshop where everyone could add stitches as they chose. This art piece now hangs beautifully in the stunning reception area of their converted building in Manchester. I have had the pleasure of delivering workshops to established community groups such as The Quintessential Quilters and The W.I. who arrived ready to sip tea, eat delicious cake and stitch to their hearts content!I love teaching because embroidery has a wonderful way of helping people relax. Watching someone arrive, tired from the week gone by, sometimes feeling unsure and leave proud, calm and smiling is the best part of what I do.I’m always excited to welcome new stitchers to my workshops. My classes are friendly, inclusive and pressure‑free. No experience is needed, just a willingness to have a go. So, whether it’s your very first time or you’re rekindling a long‑lost love of embroidery, know you will be welcomed, guided and met, just where you are at in your embroidery journey!
