This two-hour pottery workshop in Glasgow is designed as a mindful creative escape — part pottery class, part gentle art wellbeing ritual. In our atmospheric city centre studio, surrounded by crystals, creative materials, and friendly resident cats, you’ll have time to slow down, work with your hands, and shape something personal from clay.
This experience is perfect for complete beginners, solo guests looking for quiet creative time, couples wanting a meaningful date idea, friends planning something different in Glasgow, or small groups celebrating birthdays, hen parties, or team-building moments.
What to expect:
  • Learn hand-building techniques such as pinching, shaping, joining, carving, and adding texture.
  • Create something expressive, intuitive, and completely your own.
  • Choose from a small bowl, trinket dish, candle holder, mini vase, incense holder, altar dish, decorative object, or small sculptural piece.
  • Step by step while giving you space to follow your own ideas and personal style.
  • Ticket includes the full ceramic process -- we'll get in touch for you to come back and glaze/paint.
  • Take home your finished piece once fired!
You'll have a unique project made completely by you, plus new hand building skills to keep experimenting with! Our studio is home to friendly cats, who may be around during your visit. Please keep this in mind if you have allergies or are uncomfortable around cats.
Please note: Our studio is located in a basement space with stair access only, so unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible.

What to bring
Please wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a little messy -- aprons will be available, but clay may still get on your clothing.

After the first session, subsequent sessions can be arranged with the teacher, at a time that suits you.

FAQ

Is this a wheel throwing class?
No, this is a hand building pottery workshop. You will shape clay by hand using beginner-friendly techniques such as pinching, joining, carving and adding texture. We do not use pottery wheels in this session.
Is this suitable for beginners?
Yes. This workshop is designed for complete beginners, and our tutor will guide you step by step throughout the session.
Can I take my pottery home on the day?
No. Your piece will need to dry and be fired in the kiln first. We will contact you once it is ready for your return glazing/painting session. After glazing, it will be fired again and then ready to collect.

O&E Artcraft Studio is a small independent creative studio based in Glasgow city centre. We offer relaxing, hands-on craft workshops for adults, children and families, including pottery, beading, crystal jewellery making, painting, collage, printmaking and seasonal creative classes.
Our studio was created from a love of slow, mindful making and the belief that art does not need to be intimidating. Whether someone is a complete beginner or already enjoys creative hobbies, we want every guest to feel comfortable, welcomed and free to explore their own style.
We are especially passionate about teaching because we enjoy seeing people gain confidence through making something with their own hands. Many of our workshops are designed to be calm, friendly and beginner-friendly, with step-by-step guidance, all materials provided, and plenty of room for personal creativity.
Alongside adult craft workshops, we also run children’s art classes and creative sessions, helping young learners build imagination, confidence and practical art skills in a supportive environment.
Our studio has a warm, local and personal atmosphere. We are not a large commercial workshop space — we care about the little details, the experience of each guest, and creating a cosy place where people can slow down, make something beautiful, and enjoy a creative moment in Glasgow.
