What you'll do
Draw or Trace Your Design
Bring along any inspiration you can find -- it could be photos, books, cards, magazines or your own design! We will have some pictures you can use too.
Transfer Onto Your Lino Block
We will guide you the the steps to transfer your traced image to a lino block, ready to carve and experiment with.
Carve Your Design
Using the tools, you'll carve out your design. We'll guide you through safety tips with the tools, and and help you get the best result for your print!
Choose Your Ink Colours
We have variety of block printing inks to choose from. We will show you how to prepare the ink ready for rolling on to your design. You could even try blending colours for a gradient effect!
Apply the Ink to Your Block
Next up, you'll apply your chosen colour of ink to your block. We will give you advice on how to get the sharpest print and all the best tips and tricks.
Re-use Your Block Design
Print to your heart's content! The best part? Your carved Lino is re-usable. So why not give it a wash, try a different colour and work on a collection of unique prints to take home!

Wear clothes you aren't worried might get some ink on them -- we use washable inks but can't guarantee that they won't leave any stains behind.

At Atelier Whimsy, we believe in the power of creativity and self-expression. Our journey began with a passion for Arts, Crafts and Design, and we strive to inspire others through our variety of Mobile Workshops.We are two work friends who wanted to bring our love and knowledge of the Arts out into the community. We have both studied and worked in a variety of Art practices and now enjoy sharing this in our workshops. We love printmaking, textiles, painting and creating a warm, friendly atmosphere for people to learn and enjoy them with us.
