Arrival and Introductions

Arrival and Introductions

We bring everything with us to the community venues that we hire (other than the ovens) so all you need to do is arrive and have a cup of tea with us before we begin.

Making the Dough

Making the Dough

First we weigh all the ingredients, and prepare the doughs, before leaving them to raise in their own time. When one dough proves, we make another!

Let's Eat!

Let's Eat

We always eat together on our classes, whether it is pizza on the beginners class or scones on the focaccia class. We love a cup of tea and a bite to eat whilst we chat.

Everyone leaves knowing that they can make their own real bread when they get home. It is a far step away from the bread bricks you made at school!

There’s nothing quite like the smell of freshly baked bread, and in this baking class in Warrington, you’ll learn the foundations of proper bread making in a way that feels clear, practical, and achievable. You’ll leave with your own freshly baked breads and the knowledge to truly take control of your kitchen.
If you’re new to bread making, you’re in exactly the right place. This is a fun, relaxed yet informative class. Jen and Mitch have been teaching people to make real bread for 9 years in local community centres, homes, schools and businesses.
They won Silver in the world bread awards for their white delight, which is the bread they teach on their beginners classes, alongside soda bread and pizza.
Jen runs an afternoon tea business where everything is home baked from scratch, with no additives, and is passionate about bringing the same 'real bread ethos' to her baking classes. Simple, quality ingredients brought together with great teachers and superb recipes to take home and the bread making classes became an extension of this.
Mitch qualified in 2016 to go on the Bake off, but turned his place down as he just wanted to bake bread, not seek fame. He loves to share his passion with others.
Jen says "Over the years we have taught over 1000 people to bake with us, at all ages, from 7 - 87, and the joy is that they become part of the Room Forty family, and keep coming back for more, so we know we're doing something right!"
The pair even offered free classes in lockdown, as bake along sessions for charities, corporate lawyers and the public, with easy to source ingredients.
