Join this intermediate enamelling summer school in Dunblane and take your skills to the next level with three days of dedicated studio time. This mid-week course is perfect if you've already mastered the basics and are ready to develop greater precision, layering, and design confidence in a supportive environment.
Under the expert guidance of award-winning artist Elizabeth Jane Campbell, you'll explore the rewarding joy of deep creation. You'll move beyond fundamentals to immerse yourself in the process, learning how to refine your work and solve complex design challenges. Elizabeth will share her professional insights as you experiment with colour and kiln work, ensuring you feel knowledgeable and inspired to continue your creative practice.
Throughout this hands-on workshop, you will:
  • Master advanced decorative techniques – Learn the intricate arts of champlevé, basse-taille, and cloisonné through live demonstrations.
  • Explore cold connections – Discover how to safely rivet and frame your enamel work to enhance your designs without damaging your pieces.
  • Develop a technique library – Spend time practising and experimenting to build a solid foundation for future projects.
  • Receive tailored guidance – Bring along your own designs or works-in-progress for one-to-one advice from a seasoned professional.
  • Consolidate your learning – Spend the final day creating a small collection of finished pieces that showcase your new skills.
You'll finish the summer school with a fresh perspective and a beautiful set of handcrafted items to show off. Beyond the physical keepsakes, you'll walk away with an enriched understanding of this ancient craft and the technical mastery to kickstart your next creative obsession.
Please note: Classes may be cancelled due to events outside of our control or lack of attendees. If this occurs, you will be notified before the class is due to commence and offered a choice between a replacement class or a full refund of your fees.
