In this knitting workshop in Henley-on-Thames, you’ll learn to create a traditional Icelandic Stapavík sweater, building your skills as you work through each stage of the garment. Designed for those who already know the basics of knitting, this course helps you take the next step and bring everything together into a finished piece.
You don’t need to be advanced, just comfortable with knitting fundamentals. With a small group and ongoing support between sessions, you’ll have guidance whenever you need it!
What to expect:
  • Knit a traditional Icelandic Stapavík sweater from start to finish.
  • Learn colourwork techniques to add pattern and detail.
  • Knit sleeves and understand garment construction.
  • Join your work midway before knitting the yoke.
  • Follow a structured process with homework between sessions to keep progress on track.
  • Receive support between sessions if you need extra help!
  • Work in a small group (maximum of 6 knitters) for a more personal experience.
  • Choose from a range of yarn colourways or create your own combination.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll be well on your way to completing your own Icelandic sweater and gained the skills and confidence to take on more advanced knitting projects in the future.
