Kids' Screen Print a T-Shirt Workshop

Let your child's creativity shine with this fun and educational screen printing workshop in Bollington.

6+ years & Adults     1.5 hours Class size 1 to 4 guests

  £28 - £32 (£28 for Tote; £30 for White T-Shirt; £32 for Coloured T-Shirt)

If you're looking for an arty activity for the kids, this t-shirt screen printing workshop for children in Macclesfield and South Manchester is the perfect choice.
Using simple hand-made stencils, your child can print their passion onto a blank, organic t-shirt with the incredible power of a silk screen. The workshop starts with fun warm-up activities to get them thinking about designs they love. Next, they will learn how to create effective stencils, before moving on to designing and careful cutting. From there, it’s all about choosing an ink colour and learning how to use the screen and squeegee to print the design.
The t-shirts will be touch-dry to take home and will serve as a long-lasting memento of your child's creativity. To make the design permanent, you'll just need to iron the back of the t-shirt for a couple of minutes at home. If you bring along another white t-shirt, they can even print their design a second time for free.
Parents are welcome to come and print too or stay to watch. There are also workstations in the studio if you want to bring a book or laptop.
This is a wonderful activity that will leave your child with a brilliant custom t-shirt and a fantastic sense of artistic achievement.

  • 5/5 from Frances Green, attended Aug 2026: No special occasion, just half-term. Frances (6 and a half) learnt so much beyond making a silk screen print, which in of itself was great fun and very gratifying.. She was given the enormous responsibility of using a scalpel (after safety training); I think that she loved this best of all (infinitely better than the safety scissors at home or school). She was also filled with wonder as she grasped how her template became an image on the T-shirt; Jodie did a fabulous job of explaining what was needed in designing the template. Ben, the workshop leader, was calm, clear in his instruction, hugely knowledgeable, warm, and friendly. The workshop was great and the group (mixed ages) was friendly and co-operative. It was a fabulous hour and a half. Thank you Ben and Jodie.
  • 5/5 from Jake Newton, attended Jul 2026: A wonderful experience for my daughter to print her own T-shirt. Ben so amazing and patient with my daughter and it was great to see how much she got out of the session. Would highly recommend Thank you
  • 5/5 from Joey, attended Apr 2026: We’ve just had the most splendid time screen printing T-shirts @HopePress. We were 2 adults and 2 x 9yr olds. It’s been the best fun, we’ve come away feeling really proud of our perfectly personal apparel! Ben was just amazing, he made the whole experience so relaxed that we laughed the whole time while we were crafting. One of the children is autistic and needed to step outside regularly for short breaks to prevent overwhelm and we ended up over-running by 30 minutes, but we weren’t put under any pressure to rush to get finished. Ben’s enthusiasm and gentle guidance ensured he was able to make it all the way through the workshop. It’s been ace to create something truly unique. Thanks so much Ben for a wonderful afternoon
  • 5/5 from Vaila Mallace, attended Feb 2026: My 11 and 9 year olds loved their screen printing experience. They are very proud of what they created. They felt very comfortable interacting with Ben, he was a great teacher. We will definitely be returning.
  • 5/5 from Alex, attended Dec 2025: Ben was fantastic with my son for his Screen Print a T shirt workshop. A really engaging and interesting experience with a really lovely final product. Perfect for any age but was a huge thumbs up from a 6 year old.
  • 5/5 from Sue Barrett, attended Sep 2025: Spent a fantastic morning screen printing T shirts with my husband. Ben was a relaxed and friendly tutor. This was out of our comfort zone- we don’t consider ourselves artistic at all - but the end results were fabulous and I would recommend this experience to anyone.
  • 5/5 from Lisa Crook, attended Aug 2025: I took my 6 year old daughter to Ben’s T-Shirt Printing Workshop as an activity during the school summer holidays. During the 90min session, Ben introduced her to printing examples by the artist Matisse and then gave her some time to sketch out a few of her own design ideas. Ben then made time to discuss my daughters ideas with her, explaining which would work well for a print and helping her tweak them to create the best outcome. My daughter then learnt how to use a scalpel safely to cut out her design, she learnt how to mix colours and she learnt how to flood the printing frame with a squeegee. Ben was calm, patient, positive, encouraging and reassuring every step of the way and my daughter was thrilled with the finished T-Shirt. The venue was light, bright, clean and welcoming and it was very easily accessible. We will be back again!
  • 5/5 from Leann Stainton, attended Aug 2025: Thank you so much for a great morning! We thoroughly enjoyed our screen printing workshop. Ben was so welcoming and we instantly felt comfortable and at ease. We all came away with a great understanding of the processes and are all keen to do it again. To find an activity to occupy a 12 & 14 year old… and get them off screens, isn’t always easy but this was really engaging for all of us. Thanks again, we’ll be back!
  • 5/5 from Eleanor Harvey, attended Aug 2025: We did this activity with our kids this morning (aged 6 and 4) and it was fantastic. Ben was so knowledgeable and engaging, and the kids absolutely loved coming up with design ideas and turning them into T-shirts. I had no idea how the process worked beforehand, but Ben was great at walking us through each step in a way that was interesting for the adults as well as the children. Would highly recommend this activity to people of all ages.
  • 5/5 from Victoria Williams, attended Aug 2025: Highly recommend this class. The teacher was great, really looked after us. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the kids are over the moon with their t-shirts.
  • 5/5 from Katie Kershaw, attended Aug 2025: We have had an amazing session with Ben screen printing this morning! Both myself and my daughter have come away having designed and printed our own t-shirts, which we're really proud of! Ben was a brilliant teacher; he had broken down the session into manageable segments of the process and made it all achievable. He was particularly good with encouraging and helping my daughter with the process. The studio was a really relaxed, comfortable and creative environment as well. I'd highly recommend this class, or even any creative sessions that Ben offers. He clearly has a real passion for artistic processes which shows in his teaching.
  • 5/5 from Philippa Stead, attended Aug 2025: Really enjoyed the screen print a T-Shirt class with my 10 year old. Perfect guidance and inspiration throughout the process which allowed my daughter to create her own design and print herself a really lovely t-shirt. I was also allowed to have a go at a stencil and print which I really enjoyed. I would highly recommend for both adults and children, it’s such a relaxing process and you come away with a really lovely piece to keep.
  • 5/5 from Lyndsey Markland-Clay, attended Jul 2025: We had the best morning with Ben learning how to screen print. Ben was really engaging and taught at exactly the right pace for all of us (9 year old, 13 year old and adult) The class absolutely flew by and we have the most amazing t shirts to bring home. I highly recommend this as a kids and adults activity, we will be looking to see what else we can do in this studio, what a lucky find!
  • 5/5 from Mary Edwards, attended Jul 2025: My kids had a fab time screen printing with Ben! They loved creating their own designs and are delighted with their t-shirts. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun, creative activity for kids this summer!
  • 5/5 from Kristy Ney, attended Jul 2025: “It’s good mum, I want to go again!” - M (age 6). What a beautiful way to spend an afternoon together. Learning, sharing, creating, we would love to come back. Thank you Ben :)

Believe it or not, print-making saved my life!
A few years ago, my life looked pretty normal: I was a Dad, a garden designer, and a keen walker. Suddenly everything changed. One day I simply couldn’t get off the sitting-room floor. I’d had a nasty bug and the next thing I knew: I was diagnosed with ME/CFS.
For a long time, things were pretty tough, but as the weeks passed, I began to discover painting and printmaking. And as the weeks turned to months I was making more and more art, and steadily feeling better.
Print-making was a refuge: a place to get better from. As I recovered my health I realised I wanted to share the magic of making things with other people; and the dream of Hope Press was born!
Everyone could do with more space in their life, more time for creativity, more peace and flow. I now run a variety of classes and workshops in printmaking – including a course for people with illnesses like mine – I hope you'll find something for you.
