Kid's Pottery Wheel Workshop

School's out, and we are pleased to be hosting a school holiday wheel-throwing class in Manchester for kids and teens this summer!Sessions are 1.5 hours long, and each child gets 3 balls of clay to use. It's important to know that things don't always go to plan on the pottery wheel, and it might take a couple of goes to get the hang of things. That's why we give you 3 tries!After getting messy on the wheels, each child chooses 1 piece to keep. There's a little time to decorate with colour and texture, and then you need to leave the items with us at the studio to complete the glazing and firing process. It takes 3-4 weeks before the pieces are ready, so you'll need to come back and pick up your creations in September.Age and ability:

• Suitable for ages 8+ -- all children need to have a supervising adult.
• Parents/guardians of children aged 12+ can sit back with a coffee as long as you stay in the studio.
• Parents/guardians of children aged 8-12 may need to be more hands-on.
• Children younger than 8 may find the process more difficult -- however, we're happy for parents or guardians to make an informed decision about whether their younger child is likely to enjoy and manage the experience.

If you don't live in Manchester, we can post finished pieces out to you for an additional £5. Extra pieces can also be kept for £3 per pot, both payable on the day of the workshop.

• Each child gets 3 x goes on the wheel.
• Each child chooses 1 x piece to be left with us to glaze and fire and picked up 3-4 weeks later.
