5/5 from Sharon Waterson, attended Aug 2026: I took my mum to the Japanese Shimenawa Workshop for her birthday this week and what a lovely afternoon out it proved to be. The teacher, Wendy, was so inviting and friendly and skilled. She had great patience with me as I struggled with one part and we never felt like there wasn’t enough time to get things just how we wanted them. She was able to answer all our questions about the practice and took sone lovely photos for us on our phones so we had something else to help remember the day. The materials we used were of a fantastic quality and the end products just looked beautiful. We loved the relaxing atmosphere from the ambient background music to Wendy’s calming presence. We’ll definitely be back to do more crafts with Wendy.

We arrived at the studio and it turned out me and my 3 friends had a mini private session: the studio is so wonderful, there’s music playing in the background and the atmosphere is super peaceful. The teacher is so lovely and patient, everything was explained so well and the experience was such great fun. The materials are so vibrant, there are lots of options to choose from and we could really see everyone’s personality shine through their creations! She is very self-explanatory, honest and fun. Definitely recommend to anyone with a little crafty experience or none at all.
