I’ve always loved art. But I started Jamination because I kept hearing the same thing from parents: "School just doesn’t offer enough art."Kids were coming to me saying they loved drawing Pokemon, anime, and their own characters... but they didn’t know HOW. They’d been given colouring sheets, not skills.The pivotal moment was watching a 7 year old go from "I can’t draw" to holding up a painting of their favourite character and saying "Look what I did". That pride. That lightbulb moment. I was hooked.I’m passionate about it because every child deserves to feel capable and creative. Art builds confidence, focus, and problem solving. And when we teach them real technique, they can draw anything they imagine.One week it’s wobbly lines. Next week it’s shading and form. Then suddenly they’re teaching me a new evolution.I love teaching because it’s not about making mini versions of me. It’s about giving them the tools, then watching them run with it. My job is to be their biggest cheerleader and help them believe: "I can make this."Most people don’t know that I’m obsessed with learning the things kids love. If there’s a new Pokemon or a trending game character— I’m watching it, sketching it, and figuring out how to teach it.My craft isn’t just "art". It’s translating. Taking what kids are passionate about and turning it into lessons on light, shadow, proportion, and colour theory without them even realising they’re learning.Also: I still get nervous before every first class. Because I want every kid to leave feeling proud. That never goes away, and I hope it never does.
