Join artist Chloë Louise Lawrence for a mould-making and casting course in Stockport, where you’ll learn how to create a silicone mould and cast an object over two workshops. Taking place in her artist studio at GRIT Studios, you will be taught the process of how to cast an object to create a one-part silicone mould.
This workshop is perfect for beginners or those wanting to learn more about the casting process. You’ll be guided step by step as you learn how to prepare an object for casting and create a successful and detailed silicone mould. You'll then be guided on how to use your mould to create a cast in either Plaster of Paris or Soap -- please confirm your choice when booking.
What to expect:
  • Learn the process of making a silicone mould and casting objects.
  • Create a silicone mould from a small 5"x5" object.
  • Use your silicone mould to recreate a small 5"x5" cast in either Plaster of Paris or Soap.
  • Enjoy a relaxed, supportive workshop environment.
  • Learn and develop a new creative skill or hobby!
By the end of the course, you’ll take home your own small sculpture or usable soap, along with your own silicone mould and the skills and inspiration to continue exploring this process.
Access information:
This course will take place on the first floor of GRIT Studios, Kingston House, which is only accessible by stairs.
