Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

I booked the workshop for my 12 year old daughter so she could get started on her new sewing machine. Kate the instructor was lovely, so patient and knowledgeable. She explained steps really clearly and/or showed them where needed. We came away from the sessions feeling confident we can get started.

Had a great lesson with Kate who showed me how to prepare the sewing machine and taught me all the workings of the machine and let me practice all the various stictches. She also taught me how to read and cut a pattern.

Bought a private workshop for my mum and I as a gift for her birthday. Chiara was fabulous throughout. We were given a kit to work with and take home, which mum was over the moon with not knowing what to expect. Time flew by and with it just being two of us we got plenty of one to one attention - great value for money. Chiara really made it though - she’s got endless patience and clear communication skills.

The lady running the session was very friendly and was brilliant at working with people going at different paces to make sure that everyone was able to keep progressing at their own pace. She was very very encouraging and made the session really fun - thank you! All materials were provided and instructions given. However there was only one glue gun that the instructor could use which wasn’t in the craft area. So most of the hour was spent waiting to get your hat glued. My daughter was starting to get fed up with waiting to do her hat.

Really lovely young woman giving tutoring. Really supportive and patient. It took me a lot longer to pick up the very basics than the other person in the class but I wasn't made to feel less important. The time flew by. Could have done with longer, to practice more. A little expensive for 1.5hrs but better learning face to face than online and provided with a hook and 2 balls of yarn.Convenient location.

The teacher i had was absolutely great. she made it easy to understand and told me to ask if I didnt understand anything.
I had purchased a new Sewing Machine and wanted to know what all the different things did and what they were for. She went through each one and we used them on their machine which helped enormously.
The venue was excellent. This was at Hobbycraft in Peterborough, Brotherhoods.
What I liked most - the whole experience. Would definitely recommend it to anyone and it was definitely value for money.

I feel the tutor should have practiced a bit more or had a bigger vessel for dunking. She said that the large bauble was a bit big to submerge & that you could turn it around to do the bottom. However when I tried this it got stuck!

The teacher was very good . I Had taken 2 grandchildren ages 4 and 6 . She was very helpful and patient.
We used coloured clay and made a Santa and reindeer , which turned out very well with a little help .

My friend and I really enjoyed the beginners crochet class at Peterborough with the lovely Ciara. She was really helpful and patient, teaching us the basic stitches to start crocheting. Fabulous experience. My tutor Chiara was very knowledgeable, she listened to my problems, (stitch identification and making a neat circle) and demonstrated how to do them.
She then watched, advised, helped whilst I tried myself. The wool was a very good quality and I was allowed to take samples home for reference

People kept coming up to ask for help on the shop floor, one woman was starting to be a bit stroppy that no one was available
Obviously staff have to be polite but I didn’t so just told her to go the the sales desk and pointed out I had paid for the tutorial so it was my time with the assistant, not hers

Kate was lovely and explained everything to the girls. I did think the class was pretty steep for £8 though when they are usually £5. The only equipment needed was a cup, some wool and 4 beads so seems very over priced. £16 for 2 pen pots!

Had a good session with Beginners Arcylic Paint pouring yesterday afternoon.
Definitely will be a craft that I will be continuing.
Instructor was good, but the hour just meant we had limited time to experiment.
Venue: having the session in the middle of the shop is good for exposure to customers BUT we did get interrupted a few times for other reasons as no other member of staff seem to be available.
As I paid for individual session I would have preferred a more uninterrupted experience.
Look forward to collecting my "dried" creations and to taking up the craft in earnest.

My 1:1 Cricut experience was extremely enjoyable. Kate was very helpful and knowledgable about all things Cricut and was excellent at teaching us different things on the machine. Both myself and my friend learned lots, from using simple cutting skills to making personalised stickers. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has a Cricut machine, whether you’re new to it or experienced, you can always learn something new from others!

Did the Beginners Crochet course, x 6 people. Personally, I thought that the wool was a good choice and nice colours, and the canvas bag was a nice touch. I thought i would do this course because when i learnt to knit at the beginning of the year on my own, i found it a struggle at times, and wished there had been somewhere to go, to learn the basics. Our tutor was excellent, I can only say that she was soooo helpful - explaining in easy to understand detail, which was exactly what was needed by pretty much all of us, whilst keeping the lesson light and jovial. She made me feel totally at ease, and I now feel able to go online with more confidence about what I'm doing. She somehow managed to divide her time to help each of us individually, as well as a group, and I cannot recommend her enough. Thoroughly enjoyed it, and felt that it was good value for money.

Just attended the Beginner’s Crochet Workshop and can definitely recommend it if you are a complete beginner. Chiara was very helpful and patient, and did really well with her first larger class. Only 5 of us so nice small class. Materials were really nice and good quality. The hour and a half flew by. Feel I have learnt the basics to now progress at home.

Kate was the Perfect person for my needs.
I've been trying to get back into sewing for the past 18 months and just needed a little update on understanding tension and stitch length adjustments.
I was so previlaged to be able to use Kate's knowledge and experience in alternating patters to my size and best ways to increase existing dresses to fit my current size.
And she taught be some simple block pattern developement (I couldn't have learnt this from Youtube as this was my previous attempts) and how to use my French curve.

I had a cricut workshop with Kate on the 2nd of june and she was absolutely fantastic. I didn't own a cricut machine at the time and really wanted to know how to use one. Kate literally went through everything from how to use the software i detail to having a go on the machine. Kate made everything seem easier than i was expecting. I highly recommend this workshop

The teacher is called Alice, she was very helpful kind, patient and explained all the steps in creating our canvases. We had an hour but the enthusiastic artists were complete within the time which allowed time for the art work to dry. Better done with a grown-up to guide/ encourage as well as Alice. Messy but fun. All paint used washes off skin/ clothes but don't dress them in their Sunday best/ have a change of clothes after if you are going on somewhere else after. My two are 3 and 7, both enjoyed it. Would go again.

It was really helpful to have a chance to be shown different features of the machine and App. The thing I found most helpful was having my questions answered there and then by someone with lots of experience. The only thing that irritated me (and this was a store thing not a kate thing)was that I needed a rotary cutter for the cricut I purchased and peterborough doesnt stock them so i now have to order it on line. When you spend that much on a gadget you want all the toys on the day not three days later.

Our teacher Chloe was so lovely brilliant with our girls.
The air drying clay was great to work with and the work shop was fab. Both girls made a chick and a bunny.
Materials were all provided, colours weren't the colours maybe you'd usually pick for the animals but it made it more fun and made the creative flare of the girls come out.

Had a lovely time at the Easter course. Alice was a great teacher, very engaging and encouraging. She explained and demonstrated what to do, made suggestions of how different effects could be made. Used the ideas my son came up with on her decorations which he really liked. Would definitely book another coursed based on experience today.

I was a little disappointed in the stamps that were provided as they did not work especially well with the clay, we also expected some other stamps not just alphabet ones.

Would happily recommend the courses at Peterborough and highly recommend Alice as the teacher.

I thoroughly enjoyed my class at Hobbycraft tonight. My teacher was extremely nice, easy to get on with and very patient. I couldn’t have asked for better. I was taught basic crochet stitches in very good detail and the course was taken at a very relaxed speed.
I was astounded at the materials provided for my lesson which far exceeded my expectations. The other assistants in the shop stopped on their way by and asked how It was going which was also a lovely gesture I felt ver welcome. I was sorry when it was time to go home. Thank you for fulfilling one of my wishes.

Our tree toppers looked nothing like this stock image. The teacher seemed really nice and friendly but didn't seem to know what she was doing and it was very clear that it was her first time delivering this workshop. Kids enjoyed it though.

The teacher did a great job at making this an enjoyable session. The three of us in our booking enjoyed ourselves and had fun learning something new. We were all happy with what we made and ended up buying more bits after to continue with at home. The staff were friendly and it was great value for money overall. It was a tad disorganised but I don't think that was necessarily any one persons fault. Overall happy we went and enjoyed ourselves.

I went in knowing nothing and came out confident that I could create the work I wanted to make. The Tutor (Pippa) was excellent and even gave me a run down of the positives and negatives of two machines, based upon the brief I left with the store Manager, to help me make the right selection. A really useful session and it gave me not only confidence to get started, but also confidence that I was buying the right machine for me.

Karen the teacher was brilliant, she took time to show us exactly how to hold the pen to get the strokes thick and thin. The course package had everything we needed and other types of brush lettering pens were also recommended, which we tried out before purchasing.
The course was held in the Peterborough Hobbycraft shop at the back so we weren't too disturbed.
Overall excellent quality thank you and looking forward to booking another course to try out.

Karen, as always, was an excellent tutor. She not only showed how the process went, but she also answed questions about infusable inks that were not anything to do with the mug press. Her knowledge of the subject is really good and she has given me the confidence to now go ahead and unpack my mug press and use it. ( it has been sitting in its box for about 6 months ). On leaving, Karen said that if I had any questions about the process or if I forget anything, to come by and ask her. She said that I was always welcome to pop in and ask questions and to bring in any mug that I make and show her. I left so full of confidence and ideas. As always 100%. Thank you Karen.

Well can I first say that the lady that was taking the class was very friendly and knows what she she is talking. I have come away with knowing what I am doing.
I would definitely ask her for more help when I need it. The venue was very nice and bright. It was definitely value for your money.

The pattern is very poor. No visual pictures of each block or for the construction of each stitch. I shouldn’t have to go on Utube for instruction Especially as on front of pattern it says for beginners. So no purpose for the course.
Poor quality sewing needle and the snips were useless.
Will not be signing on for any further workshops

As always the staff were fantastic. Even though the machines decided to update just as we needed them, it was something out of their control, but they were great. Things happen that are out of our control sometimes and it's how the situation is dealt with. In this case all I can say is Karen was brilliant. I went knowing nothing and came out with the ability and confidence to now use my machine at home.
I can never find fault with any staff or the shop. 10/10 from me

Admittedly,I was hesitant to spend this much money for a workshop but it was my 7year old’s wish for her birthday and it was well worth it. Peppa is an amazing teacher with a wealth of knowledge and lots of experience. She encouraged my daughter to try lots of different things and experiment (beyond the instructions on the box that is part of this workshop).Highly recommend this as an unforgettable experience to enjoy and continue doing at home.

Shed a few tears at one point running race for life and with this lesson I learnt that I can print a picture of my dad and add him to my shirt. The pack of resources was beautifully wrapped and the wool is so colourful. It was great to be able to have the workshop in the privacy of the office. The tutor was so positive, enthusiastic, skilled and patient, and she gave me the confidence to have a go.

I would love to attend another beginners crochet workshop to build up my skills and improve my techniques. My goal is to be able to crochet flowers and a workshop on creating a simple flower would be fantastic.

I was greeted today at your Peterborough store by Kate, whom I had a 1 to 1 with on beginner's guide to Cricut vinyl.
Where do I begin, from the minute we were at the Cricut desplay area Kate was so approachable with questions and helpful advice I had no idea about or even to ask. We finally got to the purpose which was, how to cut, stick, layer and the difference between the types of vinyls ( I was totally blown away by it) but so put at in the zone. Kate was never pushing or put me under any pressure at all. I learnt everything that I would have liked and even more. The hour flow past as we were both having a great time.
Very much worth every penny that the session cost. But I which that you could have a follow up session for us to share with the member of staff the great ideas and projects we have enjoyed making.
Just wish there was a 5* plus because I would have ticked it.

I really enjoyed my one to one Cricut class with Kate. I found Kate to be extremely informative and she answered every single question I asked. I didn't have a machine and the reason for my visit was to see if it would do all the things I wanted before buying. After the class I went on to buy a Cricut Maker/Large press/Small press/tools and box of assorted items from yourselves. Totalling £550. I dare say that without the class with Kate I wouldn't have took the plunge! So credit to Kate ! :)

Karen was an excellent teacher, we had a lot of fun making these wreaths. All the contents for the wreaths were good quality and lots of it, it was very well presented. I look forward to the next workshop I do.

The training was very good. I did not know much about the machine. Kate explained everything well on how to use the machine, different icons and project. I learnt alot of the training given.

I thought I had left a feed back but here we go today was such a good day I have learnt so much from Kate we had some home work yo do for this week and I must a mit I was really pleased with my self that I achieved what I wanted to learn Kate is very easy to work with if you cannot get it 10 times she still goe’s through every part bit by bit it is so much more fun to be with Kate learning instead off being on Utub I know Utub is good but you cannot see every thing they talk to quick with Kate it just makes sense I am so happy that hobbycraft are doing these classes it makes my life so easier as now I have time to make things as before I was giving up as I could not understand somethings I needed to learn Kate is a credit to your company she is very hands on she knows so much about the Cricut you might say she is the Manuel to the Cricut
With out Kate a don’t think many people would off brought the Cricut as there is no instructions only on line and no one else sells them so Kate is your diamond host thank you once again I do hope the classes continue as we all still need help the price is perfect Caroline

I have learnt so much today doing the course for an hour.
I understood everything the lady told me and showed me how to do the bits I needed to know.
Everything slipped into place.
These course’s are a weight in gold as they say she made it so easy to do and to remember.

The class was very good went through Everything I wanted to know and more plus I could go through bits that I first missed the when Kate was explaining to me and gave me time to write it down Kate should me things that I did not know that was on the cricut next time I will be ready for more questions Kate made it look so simple but when you try to understand it by yourself is much harder Kate made it where you could understand ever word she said she did not rush me we took it slow I would give her 100 percent

Kate was really friendly and welcoming. She went through every and double checked I was getting everything she was discussing. She went through the items I would need for the projects I would like to do.
The venue was good, the only suggestion I would have would be for a sign to be put up as other customers sometimes looked like they wanted to ask questions.
