Throughout the year, Hobbycraft host a variety of workshops in stores and online, designed to give everyone the opportunity to master a new craft or refine a long-time favourite. Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

Courtney was very knowledgeable and was great to learn from. Hobbycraft let the side down with poor internet and connection took a while to get the machines working. But would happily complete another course as found it very interesting and have learnt a lot.

My daughter (3) and I really enjoyed doing this activity, it was so fun. You got to make 3 decorations which were really pretty, they look fab on our tree now. The teacher was very friendly and helpful throughout. My daughter was so excited and happy with the finished items. Great value and would definitely do this one again.

Alix was fab! Patient, friendly, approachable, and great with my autistic children as well as me, all three of us could basically cricket when we left and have practised almost constantly since, my daughter even took hers to her birthday meal as you can see in the photos! Alix is hoping to start booking short courses of 3 or 4 sessions to learn more & we would love that! Having continuity of same tutor v important to us re autism and anxiety, pls consider her idea. Loved our little kit to take home. Only thing is other customers kept asking Alix for help, would be nice to have a little sign on the table saying lesson in progress and to pls find another member of staff to help. This experience for my daughters birthday Def encouraged us to book again. Alix is an asset.

I attended the Star Wreath Making workshop and it was really lovely to get you in the Christmas spirit. First time I have done a Hobbycraft course and I highly recommend to all. We received a hobby craft box with all the wreath materials to create our wreath. The teacher was lovely informative and showed us step by step on how to create our wreath and we could style it how we wanted to which was nice. Mi e turned out really nice very happy with my festive star wreath creation, definitely value for money and would book on Hobbycraft courses again, thanks so much Hobby.

5 children at a private workshop, can’t believe everything was supplied and a tutor for £4 each!

The Christmas Decoration box included 5 individual items to make and decorate with loads of spares to take home and make more!

The children had a great time making their items and it didn’t matter if they didn’t follow all the directions, there is room for uniqueness!

My granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed the craft session. It was perfect for her age(5) also for the various other children who were there. The venue was perfect. Nice and light and spacious. There was plenty of supplies to work with and more offered if needed. The teacher was exceptional. Worked with all the children and made everyone feel comfortable. My lesson was at Hobbycraft in Havant. I can’t speak more highly of the teacher Sue. She was cheerful and obviously very knowledgeable. The lesson was tailored around my questions and she was able to explain where I was going wrong and how to do things the easy way instead of the hard way like I had been. She has fired me with enthusiasm to use my Cricut more.

I took my two granddaughters aged 4 and 6 to this class today which was taken by Katie. The venue was appropriate - tucked away from the other customers and was nice and quiet. The materials used were first class and it was definitely good value for money and I wouldn't hesitate to book a class there again. Katie was brilliant with the girls in guiding them and was a true professional being both friendly and extremely knowledgable in her subject.

I attended the beginners guide to crochet, the teacher was very patient and friendly. All your materials are provided and I learnt loads more than I did from watching YouTube videos or reading crochet books/magazines. The small class size meant that everyone got enough attention and time to ask questions. The only reason it's a four star rating and not a five is because there is currently no option for follow on lessons to learn different stitches or gain more confidence which is very disappointing.

VERY messy but enjoyable session with Katie at Havant Hobbycraft this afternoon. We took our own plastic ponchos to stop the paint getting on or clothes which worked a treat. All 5 of us produced lovely original works which will grace our walls once dry.

My 5 year old granddaughter thought this was the best one she had been to. She really enjoyed making the rabbit and chick, and she was very excited to tell her parents about it and proud to show them the items she had made. The teacher was excellent - engaged in conversation with each attendee, and was encouraging too (as my granddaughter is not a natural crafter). The teacher explained things by demonstration and gave clear guidance on "how to". The clay materials were good quality too and easy to use - so much so that I was asked to buy some clay afterwards so she could make things at home (which of course I did). Venue was good too.

Very relaxed class with a helpful teacher. Easy to assemble for all ages with a good finished product, the pin wheels were a bit of a let down so maybe re think next year's ideas. The card ended up creasing and the end caps were so hard to get on, even for the adults !. Would book another class next year

I’m in my 50s and have never mastered knitting or crochet, and I never thought I would. The tutor was excellent, sharing herself between four but giving us all the attention and help we needed. I was thrilled that I managed nearly a square, but where to go next?
Hobbycraft you need a stage 2 workshop please.

It was a fun workshop but was quiet tricky for the children. A lot of the button holes were not big enough to thread through the pipe cleaner. The teacher was very helpful and sources other items to ensure there we enough items to use.

We were both made to feel comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. My daughter is left handed so having Sue there to show her the correct technique was just what was needed. Great Course. My box was already opened to check I had everything. Gold Hoops weren’t in the boxes so the teacher grabbed them from store. Teacher didn’t have a box herself either so she took parts from a garland to train us. Venue is nice, but a warm drink and biscuit would definitely improve the experience. Be careful with your Parking. I was just fined by Euro Parks for staying a little longer on my embroidery course there. It does take about 10-15 mins to get a park especially with Christmas crowds. Teacher lovely, kind, and patient even with people constantly asking her for assistance when clearly she’s trying to run a class. It was stop start and we do pay for it and feel it’s a real distraction, but because of the openness she can’t ignore them. On the embroidery course I had a lady sit next to me who wasn’t on the course and hadn’t washed in a long time, it was distracting and an assault on my senses. Incidentally I also had to keep a close eye on my handbag. On this one my main frustration was with getting the extra bits to make it whole because the blue berry sold out. I had to hunt stock in other stores by telephone myself. Very Happy with my finished piece though which is why it’s 5 Stars from me.

What a pure treat! I have always wanted to learn embroidery, to keep my hands occupied whilst watching tv instead of raiding crisp packets, a lockdown habit I had to shake. On this course you receive your own box with everything you need for the class. It was wrapped so beautifully, like a present just for me. It was just joyful unwrapping the tissue paper parcels to containing the bits n bobs for the course. My teacher Sam was everything you want in a teacher and more, she is incredibly kind, thoughtful, patient, knowledgeable, and just pure fun. I was worried that the pace of the course maybe a little too fast for me, but it wasn’t at all. You go at your own pace on this course. It is a very gentle class, a natter with needles and I absolutely loved it. The only thing missing was a refreshment. The experience would be enhanced with a cuppa tea and a biscuit for this hobby circle of joy, especially on a cold day.

Was our first time experiencing a workshop at hobby craft and it was absolutely brilliant. I took my three children age ranging from 5-12 and they all enjoyed it. The lady running the workshop was great with them, she showed them what to do, asked if they needed help throughout the session. She connected well with the children giving them tips, talking about sea life creatures etc. Would recommend to anyone with children who like to have a go at something creative.

The only downside was that as the class is in center of shop floor customers kept interrupting the class , this made it a bit more difficult to focus .

This was a brilliant session and it has given me the confidence to do more acrylic paint pouring at home. The tutor lovely, personable and was very encouraging particularly as I was concerned to begin with about using too much paint. I am really happy with my 2nd attempt and will most likely put on my wall. I received a huge box of materials, so can make some more from them at home,. It was altogether an enjoyable hour spent being creative and having fun. I would say it was very good value for money. I can’t post a photo of my art as it is still at Hobbycraft for me to collect tomorrow.

The teacher (Tanya I think) was great. Very helpful and encouraging. She made us feel welcome and made sure we were comfortable. She was very patient. It was great value for money. I learned about the machine workings and felt confident enough to go away and practice. I learned about the different machines available.
Only at the end of the class did we learn that she stepped in to teach as her colleague was ill.
I was totally absorbed for the whole time.

My 17 year old son attended the Get To Know Your Sewing Machine class in Havant.

He said his teacher, Tanya, was helpful, patient, full of praise, positive and knowledgeable.

He made mistakes but Tanya helped him each time, whilst giving him advice and feedback as how to improve.

He fully enjoyed the class, the tasks (see photo) gave him opportunities to practise stitching after Tanya had explained how to use the machine.

We have already booked in for a 1:1 class to build his knowledge, he's loving his new hobby!

Kate presented the session really well and knows how to talk to children. It was a shame my granddaughter was the only participant as it was great fun and excellent value for money.
The materials were a bit fiddly at times but a good learning experience.

Lovely hour spent attempting brush lettering, not as easy as it looks! Loads of help from tutor Sam, definitely something to keep practicing as by the end of the lesson we were becoming more comfortable with the pens and our results.
Beautifully packaged course tools with lots to take home to continue this lovely craft.

Delighted that I booked for this craft class. Sue, my teacher was very patient with showing me the specific crochet stitches and technique. Now I feel competent to produce my own Jubilee bunting using the red, blue and white balls of wool and crochet hook (plus more things) supplied in my craft box that was given to me at the start of the lesson.

I felt the time allocated was not long enough, especially for a complete beginner such as myself. The lady Sue, was good, but had to get help from someone else as we all required assistance. The box with the wool etc in was really lovely & presented very well. The course left me feeling that I wasn't very good & will require further tuition. Otherwise a pleasant experience.

She had a well-prepared lesson plan but ready to answer any queries I had.
Helen introduced me to new techniques and the use of new tools that I hadn't encountered. She was very chatty and put me at ease very quickly. I have booked a further course with her. The time flew by.

The workshop was great. Courteney was our "teacher" for the hour. She was very informative and answered any questions we had. She showed us how the vinyl was designed, cut and then weeded( on the maker 3) everythjng from beginning to end. She showed us slicing, layers and answered our queries. She also told us the difference in vinyls and what one was used on different surfaces etc etc she was very calm and patient even tho she kept having customers interrupt her , but her knowledge was fab most of all she made me feel comfortable if I asked the simplest of questions Will be booking another workshop as the 2 I have done have been everything and more

I thought this was a fabulous workshop. I’ve been tempted by the mug press for a while and to see it in action has made my mind up. Hobbycraft Havant is a fabulous venue.
Helen was able to answer all my questions and show me different ways of design. She was able to discuss everything I might need. In a friendly patient manner.

Both myself and daughter really enjoyed the session making our stag heads. The lady that took the session was lovely and enjoyed having a good chat with her. I would suggest the session is made 30 minutes longer as 60 minutes did not allow enough time to completely finish it. Good value for money and great that you got to keep all the supplies as definitely going to try my hand at more mache. Would recommend.

Value for money was terrible and very disappointing- it was not a workshop as advertised. I paid £70 for 2 people as a birthday gift to my sister. You gave us a £10 kit each plus a couple of extra bits - approx a total of £15 each for materials. So the other £20 each was for the privilege of sitting at a table in your shop to make the wreath. It was not a workshop! The lady just showed us a couple of wreaths on the side as examples. There was no guidance, explanation, teaching - we were just expected to do it ourselves which i could have done at home and saved myself £40! I would not recommend this.

My granddaughter (5 years) and myself (Granny) thoroughly enjoyed the workshop. The teacher was excellent - giving encouragement and praise. She was friendly and engaged in conversation with both of us. Excellent value for cost of workshop - left with the painted ceramic money boxes and could have left with paints but decided to leave them as the tops were messy. 30 minute class well spent by both of us.
My granddaughter was excited to show off her trinket money box to her parents and to tell them all about the fun she had.

I didn't feel i was getting a 'workshop' though . Although possibly an obvious thing to say, it was just the shop assistant explaining the machine, which another member of staff was also doing for another customer at the same time, but theirs was free of charge. Although booked for an hour it did not use up the full time because i didn't really know what questions i didn't have the answers to. I didn't feel the fee was really good value, perhaps doing this as a full voucher to be used against Cricut purchases would have felt better value for money.

Sue was absolutely amazing in the session, my second Hobbycraft Cricut session which, at £10, is excellent value for money.
I arrived with a range of problems/questions and left with all the answers and a lot more knowledge and understanding too. Sue was more than happy to keep helping me with my queries, even though I'm obviously a beginner and was asking lots of really basic questions.
I went from how to part deboss and part foil a wedding invitation to how to make a business card with a cut out image and use pens to write the message. I then moved on to different ways of adding lettering to items and then to infusible inks and heat presses.

Teacher was really good and helpful, really enjoyed learning new craft project,the Christmas cloche was lovely, perfect for Christmas presents, thought it was great value for money, lovely clean and spacious venue.

Excellent value for money and a fantastically inspiring and enabling session with the lovely Helen in Havant.
Lots and lots of expertise, advice and tips made this super-useful. A chance to try some of the products was great and just what I wanted.
I did buy a new machine and tools with a fab bundle offer but that was because I wanted to do even more for a family wedding. Matching what you want to do with what the different products on offer include and do (and using the wisdom of the ‘expert’) makes selecting the right product much easier.
I’m really grateful for everything. Really inspired.

Great value for money.
My daughter loves the sealed box that she had to open with all her wool and her hook in. Really nice touch.

Thank you for the session today. To be honest I was disappointed that there was hardly any vocal communication. This experience should be all about interactive learning. My daughter was just copying what the instructor did. I don't think she learnt my new skills. That much she already knows with YouTube videos. Waste of money for us.
