Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

Our teacher, Deb, was so patient! She explained everything very clearly and we had such a great morning. The time went so fast! We received a lovely bag with two balls of yarn in it and a crochet hook. She showed us how to do a slip knot, a chain stitch, a double stick and a treble stitch. We were complete beginners and came away knowing how to continue doing those at home confidently. We would definitely return for another class! Thanks so much for having us!

I recently took my granddaughter to a clay monsters workshop at Hobbycraft Derby. She thoroughly enjoyed it, the range of resources were great and the teacher was lovely. It was fantastic value for money as all these workshops are, and we have done quite a few. My granddaughter was inspired to carry this on at home so we purchased more clay afterwards so she could make more.

My daughter Jessica loved this class. Miriam at Derby was fabulous. It was well pitched. My daughter has autism and loses track easily, becoming ditracted, but she was able to stay on task and remain engaged. Lovely class, lovely teacher. Danny was fabulous and provided a fully inclusive workshop that catered to everyone’s needs and abilities. He was helpful, kind and also recommended products for us to purchase on the day which my daughter came straight home to start!
We loved his explanation of the vision for Hobbycraft and that you are aligning with an eco conscious way to craft. Sometimes children’s products in particular can be painfully unethical! The idea of use card to stamp with was a new one for us but we had great fun exploring. It’s fab to do the painting in store so we don’t have to worry about the mess at home!
We left wanting to be return customers and also to book onto more workshops.
We thought the materials in the workshop were great quality and overall good value however we did have the 20% off promotion and offers like this will encourage me to join in the future.
I thought these classes would be a fabulous small birthday party treat for my daughter and a few of her friends in the future so we will look to book a private one later in the year (perhaps you could develop some birthday themed classes?)
I also spoke to Danny about the fact we were home educating, particularly due to SEN with my son, and he was very supportive with ideas- perhaps he could develop some home education classes during the week. If they were marketed in store and online, I’m sure there would be good interest in them!

My 7 year old grandson had a great time making his clay bunny. The lady who was instructing was very pleasant and helpful. I feel it was great value for money and have enough clay left to make a lamb at home.

my 3grandchildren aged 3-9. Enjoyed making their rabbits. It did take longer than the half hour class and as there was only one other participant would definitely needed 45 mins if there were any others in the class. They loved their finished project and gave me ideas for more models to make at home. A good price for the class and materials supplied. Will look at other classes in the next holidays

I bought this workshop for myself and my mum as a Mother’s Day gift. We didn’t really know what to expect as we’d never been to a Hobbycraft workshop before and we’d never tried crochet. We both found the crochet to be quite difficult to get the hang of first, but our teacher Deb was very patient and very good at what she does. She let us go at our own pace and made sure she spoke to us as a group and individually. The equipment and instruction papers we get to bring home are very handy too as now we can practice once we’re home. I would have given 5 stars as we enjoyed so much. The only reason for missing a star is because the class took place in the middle of the shop and I found myself struggling to hear what Deb was saying all of the time as there were also customers shopping and talking around us. I would definitely recommend this class.

I attended a pre booked workshop with Marian to provide myself with knowledge on working with Cricut machines. Marian was able to show me the different machines suited to my needs and how these worked. Which I found very helpful. Marian explained if I had any further questions once I had left the store she would be happy to help and advised I could attend further workshops if I required any further support to get my project started. I found Marian very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

We came to the Easter Bonnet making workshop. The teacher was good at giving the children ideas of what they could do or supporting them with their own ideas. There was a good selection of materials to use for children to be creative. The materials also made the activity accessible to all ages. The class was discounted when I booked it and was very reasonably priced for the activity.

Deb was a fantastic teacher was so patient and kind. The course was 1.5 hours long and we learnt 2 types of stitch. Although I would recommend this course if your just starting out, I would say it was geared towards adults. My 12 and 14 year olds found it difficult to grasp!

This was my first hobbycraft workshop, but I'll definitely try some more. Thank you to our teacher, deb at Derby. She made all the group feel welcome and at ease. We were all crochet beginners, but she managed to help us all accomplish two different types of crocheted stitched squares. I'll happily recommend this workshop, which included two large balls of wool and crochet needle, so lots yo practice with in the coming weeks. Thank you for your patience and help today.

I needed tuition on my new sewing machine which I purchased from Hobbycraft.
My teacher was most knowledgeable on the computerised sewing machine.
She showed me how to use the various attachments, stitches and modes.

The class was good value although everyone likes to get value for money, I think a little give away like a simple needle tidy made with scraps of fabric which would take a few minutes for the student to make while getting used to the machine.

The class was incredible value for money, as you are provided with wool and a hook too! I had a private class and would definitely recommend as I needed the extra help as a beginner! The actual tuition was good, the lady that thought us was very patient.
However the experience was ruined when I got a parking ticket a couple of weeks later. After spending over 2 hours in the store we then went for a coffee and I was fined £60 for parking at Kingsway too long.
I can't imagine why we weren't warned of this by the store as I'm sure I'm not the first person this has happened to. Made it a very expensive course and I certainly won't be coming back for any more courses at Hobbycraft.

Deb was running the beginners crochet and she was fantastic. She was very calm, friendly and gave very clear directions. Deb was able to demonstrate and talk through each step and we could either follow along with her or watch then try afterwards. Hi Vicki our teacher was fantastic, enthusiastic and joyful. She encouraged and complimented all the students regardless of level of skill.
The store had festive music playing and was cosy and warm. Everything was ready when we got there ready to go.
It was excellent value for money and we came away with some lovely Christmas bags. The addition of keeping the Posca pens was great.

There was plenty of materials available, I thought we'd only have time to make 2 cards, but the teacher managed the time so everyone could make all card designs. Initially I thought I could make these easily at home, but once you take into account the cost of th supplies and the time to set up, then clean down - for £8 it is a no brainer! Will certainly do this again next year

AMAZING! I have never done any craft things before and this was perfect. The teacher was amazing so friendly and helpful and all the materials were amazing we could use as much as we wanted. Fantastic little 121 on Cricut. The lady who ran it was very knowledgeable and was able to cater the session to my needs. We covered the basics and I went away with enough knowledge to decide which machine I wanted to buy and it's capabilities. She mentioned I could book in future sessions if I need help with particular projects too, which is great overall, highly recommend to anyone new to Cricut who wants a go before they buy.

Vicky was wonderful. Such a good teacher, very bubbly and warming. The class was a tad hard, with no where near enought time. It took almost half the class to prepare and split all the foilage. Need some wire cutters and hot glue guns for this class, hence the 4 stars. We finished ours at home, which was much easier as we had more equipment. As I mentioned Vicky was so good and so kind. Looking forward to next class in December. We bought a couple of extra bits on our way out to add to our star wreath. It is very beautiful.

The workshop leader Vicki was excellent, and very patient!
It definitely needed much longer than 1 hour, due to the fiddly preparation of materials before starting to make the star wreath. Vicki happily stayed with us for the extra time.
I've not given 5 stars as the quality of the materials could have been rather better - the wire was difficult to work with and the hessian for the ribbon kept disintegrating.

My teacher was amazing, very knowledgeable and helpful. Quick to spot mistakes I had made and helped me to correct them.
The only negative is where it takes place as lots of shoppers were staring as it was in the middle of the shop on the bottom floor. We did a quarter of my bee but went through everything I would need to finish it.

Miriam was very friendly and went into things in a straightforward way which was easy to understand. I learnt a lot about designier space and we completed a drawing task and cutting out with cardstock. We also cut out some permanent vinyl and went through the process of transferring it to something. The workshop was good value for money. I feel

The staff is very friendly and we like the atmosphere of the event. My little one is only 3 and he doesn’t follow the instructions well but he still enjoyed and made the messy but lovely painting. This was a great class for all ages! we love the result and we got to use all the colours and try the range. Scissors to cut our masking tape would have been good as we tore ours and this made the paint bleed around the negative of the letter. Also curves such as plastic plates would have helped us too create the shape of a Pbut we loved the class

Great workshop making air dry clay figures. Vicky was very good at describing the steps to make the animals. We managed to make 2 in the half hour slot but were given printouts of how to make more animals at home. My daughter made a few more as soon as we got home including her own creation - Cinderella's pumpkin carriage :)

Rainbow bead making with my 4 year old was fantastic! We were lucky enough to get a 1-1 workshop during a quiet period on a Saturday morning and it was so lovely and calm. Very good lesson, would like to have a choice of yarn colours.
For 5 people the group was a bit big as some needed more help than others. There was 2 teachers who were both great at finding any mistakes and helping to correct them.
Maybe include the stitch markers with them rather than the bag.
Might be worth doing a younger persons lessons 11+

Would also love a lesson on making crochet animals.

A small discount on other classes after attending this one would encourage me to attend another as it is quite expensive.

The one to one session really helped me with understanding the magic ring. I had been stuck for ages but learning how to hold the yarn correctly helped a lot. There is only so much you can learn off videos and this helped me with troubleshooting where my problems were and resolving them. Very happy! Thank you :)

I recently attended a vinyl cutting class at Hobby Craft, and I must say it was a fantastic experience. Not only was the class great value for money, but Nicky was incredibly helpful and made the entire process enjoyable.

First and foremost, the value for money of the vinyl cutting class was outstanding. The cost of the class was very reasonable, especially considering the knowledge and skills that were gained. Nicky provided thorough instruction and guidance throughout the class, ensuring that I got the most out of my experience.

Nicky at Hobby Craft was incredibly helpful from start to finish. She was knowledgeable about the vinyl cutting process and was able to answer all of my questions. She took the time to explain different techniques and was able to provide a detailed demonstration of what I wanted. The lady who took me for the class was wonderful, I have a brother machine and I took the manual with me. Although the lady could not show me how to use the machine, she managed to answer many of my questions. including how to line, put a zip in correctly and how the tension and some other things work.

My teacher was knowledgeable, encouraging and able to talk me through the application of my skill-set to re-ignite an old understanding of stitching and re-introduce confidence in existing abilities.

The venue for me was great as it was close to home and spacious and comfortable in it's layout.

The materials ie. a cloth version of a worksheet, took you step by step through the learning process and hence provided an ideal pace of learning.

I purchased the 1 to 1 workshop during a period where there was a discounted offer and I think it was absolutely great value for money.

I learnt top stitching, stopping and starting a stitch, stitching around corners and how to hem a trouser leg. All of which I wanted to learn and all of which will provide me with the best jumping off point to start stitching again. I liked it all and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

For what ever reason, Kylie wore a mask and a shield, but, out of the 5 of us, 2 were finding it hard to hear/understand her, plus the table was placed under a speaker. We asked if it could be turned down, but it's attached to the tanoid. Maybe re site the table? She was a very knowledgeable on crotchet, the time went very quickly. Good value for money

As only 30 mins are allocated, I’d suggest some prep work by the teacher/store. 1 - Fasten the pipe cleaners together. 2 - Separate the beads in to colour groups.

The teacher Kayleigh was great and very patient.
I was a complete novice having never done a crochet stitch in my life. By the end of it I had grasped double and tremble stitch. Lots of advice and encouragement provided along the way.
Spacious table with 3 of us taking part and supplied with 2 big balls of wool, crochet hook, written instructions all in a calico bag to take away. Great time had.
The only thing that would have improved it for me would be if the music wasn't playing in the background as I found it a distraction for my counting!

Sophie was a fabulous host and made my daughter feel very special. She has been talking about her ever since! The bunny craft was age appropriate but the pinwheel was too tricky and fiddly. We loved it overall but just would have appreciated a higher age rating when booking or having an easier second craft so it was more accessible for us (5 years old).

I took my 7 year old grandaughter to the Easter sign making workshop at Hobbycraft. She really enjoyed it- the teacher (Sophie) was great, very interactive, kind and helpful, and chatted to my grandaughter throughout. The range of materials used were excellent, especially the ceramic markers and all the gems/stickers. Sienna was proud of the end product and there was plenty of time in the workshop to complete it . These workshops are amazing value for money with all materials provided. It was a shame we were the only ones to take advantage of this workshop. I would thoroughly recommend them to other families.

We had a lesson at 9.30 on a Sunday morning which was perfect as the shop wasn’t open.

Absolutely fantastic birthday party for my daughter! Our workshop leader Mollie was great, she was lovely with the kids and had all the materials we needed (when the girls ran out of sponges she immediately went to grab more!) she was knowledgeable about the materials and was good at guiding the girls in how to make their canvas look good! Very happy with the whole process from efficient booking system to the actual workshop and the end result for them to take home, the whole thing was fantastic and great value for money! I took my 3 grandchildren to the clay pot workshop (ages 9,7 and 6). Having been to a few workshops instore, this was by far the best. The leader, Molly was great as she demonstrated every step of making 2 different types of pots out of air drying clay. She was very encouraging and positive with the children. The children all loved it and were pleased with their pots. The workshop was very good value for money as each child used a whole pack of clay each. Also, colouring was provided as we waited for others to arrive, so the children didn't get bored whilst waiting. Well done Molly at Hobbycraft Derby!

I have just enjoyed a lovely hour learning about brush lettering with Becky. Becky was absolutely brilliant, being very patient and offering lots of useful advice when learning how to write and draw with brush pens. The venue was quiet, not many customers about and the ones that did stop and have a look didn’t linger too long. The kit and supplies for this workshop were good quality, plentiful and wrapped in tissue paper in a box. There were plenty left over for me to take away and practice more at home.
Overall, I would highly recommend this workshop…brush lettering for beginners. A big thank you to Becky as she could not have been more friendly and helpful :)

Recently attended the beginner crochet class and came away feeling inspired to start my first project. A starter kit was supplied with wool, crochet hook and the basic crochet instructions. Kayleigh was a very patient teacher and guided us through the basic stitches spending time with each participant to ensure we were happy with the techniques. She also provided us with lots of tips and advice to complete our own projects. A great workshop, thoroughly enjoyed it.

The beginners crochet class was very good. It was instructions on how to cast a chain and then how to double and treble crochet.
The teacher was patient and knowledgeable. Our class had four people. If it was any bigger it would have meant we had to wait longer for her help.
The class and kit were good value for money.
If they offered progressive classes then it would help people move to the next levels.

Me and my Mum really enjoyed our wreath making session, a great introduction to Christmas preparations. The tutor was very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. A lovely small group (only 5) to work amongst. As well as the completed wreath we were able to bring home cutters and hot glue gun, so now equipped to continue 'making' at home. Homemade mince pies were a lovely touch too.

It was sometimes a little difficult to understand what to do as the instruction booklet isn’t very intuitive and the teacher was quite a quiet speaker in the middle of a busy store.

As usual the workshop was great value for money. Big pumpkin, lots of choice of tissue paper colours for decoration, and finished product was well worth it! Only suggestion I would make was there should be a facility to wash hands afterwards as it was a very sticky activity with glue and my grandaughter had extremely sticky hands afterwards. Luckily another mum with a toddler had some wipes, so not much of a problem. Other than that it was great and would certainly book again .

Nicola is wonderful at Hobbycraft Derby, I have also recently been to the Autumn wreath workshop as well which she ran, that one was my first workshop at Hobbycraft and I loved it so much I came back for the Halloween workshop. She was so friendly and welcoming in both workshops and it did not matter if it was just me or if there were more people she made sure everyone got the support and encouragement needed to produce wonderful wreaths.

Clare was a fantastic teacher! My daughter was taught all about the machine and sewing! Clare was very friendly, encouraging & knowledgeable. My daughter has autism but Clare was so good & got her sewing with different stitches and she even learnt how to do a buttonhole. My daughter learnt how to thread the machine, change the needle, change the foot, knows what the stitches are used for, how to use the machine generally, store it & all sorts. Clare would show her then get her to try it herself, which really helped my daughters confidence with the machine. My daughter and i came away really excited and inspired to get going with our new machine! Clare was so encouraging & helpful.

Brilliant Lesson! Clare was very knowledgeable and friendly. She showed me how to use my machine, put zips and button holes in, and answered all my questions on how to make a quilt. She gave me loads of really helpful tips - I took lots of notes. I feel much more confident now to have a go. Thank you Clare :) I took my own machine to the workshop (I had checked beforehand whether it would be ok to do so).

Jamie was fantastic with my daughter and the workshop was great! My daughter can be very shy at times, but Jamie really made an effort with her, as she did with the other children that were there. My daughter loved the session making clay sea creatures and we even went to buy more of the clay afterwards as she loved it so much! Thank you for a lovely session!

Fantastic class. The children were able to select their own small mache figure and decorate with their own choice of colour from a huge selection of tissue paper. Our teacher, Jamie, was fantastic. Really helpful with showing my child what to do and helping her but also giving her the opportunity to try a new craft by herself. Also knowledgeable and able to answer all my questions!

Excellent fun class, well lead by Jamie. We came home with some clay dinosaurs and with the leftover clay my daughter also made a couple of small animals. Great quality materials too, the clay is lovely to work with and dries really nicely. Absolute bargain at £5 per child.

For just £5, we got a lovely set of sea creatures that have been hand made by my daughter Millie. Jamie who tan todays workshop in Derby, Kingsway was absolutely fantastic, she created some beautiful creatures for the group to use as inspiration or just to enhance their own ideas. Jamie also contributed to the season by checking in with the group asking them questions and constantly engaging.

This was our second Hobbycraft workshop and we loved it. Plenty of animals to choose from and a big selection of tissue paper. Jamie, who led it, was friendly and helpful. We were even able to leave it there to dry and collect it later.

My daughter loved this workshop, it was fab, best £5 I've ever spent. My daughter is 22 and autistic, I was apprehensive about her joining a kids class. But it was great. Natalie was lovely, she chatted away to us. The products were brilliant, so much fun. We will definitely be buying some. She made loads of things, albeit not sea creatures. I will absolutely be booking more of these sessions. Thank you to Natalie in the Derby branch lovely lady. My daughter was so happy for the rest of the day.

I attended animal mache with a 3-year old. The level of craft skill needed was fine. One important consideration is whether the child is happy to have sticky fingers - inevitable for this, I would say. There was opportunity to clean hands during the workshop but I ended up doing a speedy conclusion to our dinosaur because of the glue.
Having said that this is a craft that offers a challenge to older primary age children - to make it neater than the youngest can manage.

I attended with my 3 year old granddaughter. My 8 year old grandson decided not to go. The instructor gave me a bag of material for him to complete at home.
It was well organised. The instructor was encouraging and helpful. There were plenty of craft materials. My granddaughter was pleased with the result of her efforts. We shall come again.

The lady who lead the course was lovely and very encouraging and helpful. There were only 2 of us on the course so we got lots of help and instruction.
The venue was spacious and comfortable, the only problem was the lighting which could have been improved for the close work we were doing.
The materials box was excellent and very useful and we'll organised and presented. We came away with everything we needed to continue and do lots more embroidery.
I enjoyed the stitching and felt we made good progress with our skills and the piece we worked on.

When we arrived the store hadn't been informed we were attending the class that day - it just happened that the person who runs the class was working that day. The guys sorted out all the materials for us which was great and we got to do the class.

Our tutor, Louie, was great though. Very friendly and patient.

Miriam was fabulous, knew her stuff well and a very friendly approachable person. Talked through all the things I had queries for and demonstrated in an easy to follow step by step way. Very knowledgeable and showed me a variety of product and their capabilities. She pitches at an understandable level, open to all questions on the product too.
The store itself is laid out nicely and really easy to find whatever you’re looking for…if you can’t find it there is always a friendly member of staff to help.
Highly recommend the one to one approach but will book on to a couple of other sessions both one to one and group I thoroughly enjoyed it well worth the money.

Informative lesson. Learnt different stitches and how to fit a zip. Website says dont bring own machine but definitely take yours along as it is so much easier to learn.
I would recommend recording everything so you can watch back later incase you forget!

Excellent class for beginner. The teacher was lovely, friendly, supportive and knowledgeable. She demonstrated winding a bobbin, threading the machine, basic sewing stitches etc and the three of us each had a try in easily manageable steps. She gave us tips that will help when we’re at home. Derby store is a credit to the staff, it is very well laid out, clean and the staff are extremely polite and welcoming.
Carol took the brush lettering class, she was knowledgeable of the craft, very clear and concise instruction and helpful. I learnt a lot on techniques to use.
The materials provided were of good quality and plentiful, I thought the class very good value for money

Absolutely amazing! I’ve only had my machine a few weeks so this was perfect. Nicola went through what I already knew so we weren’t doubling up. She then showed me a few tricks and tips to help with what I knew and focussed on things I wanted to learn. So helpful, really friendly. Honestly really enjoyed the whole class and would definitely book again just for an hour of peaceful crafting and a good chat.

It was a workshop yet no help or discussion on paints was given. Children were simply given the canvas and paints and they just got on with it. I thought they might talk about what a canvas is, which colour paints you mix to make other colours or a just the person might paint their own to give pointers.

I can highly recommend the Knitted miniature cacti class. I only knew a little about knitting and Claire, the instructor, was very helpful and patient.
By the end of the session I felt confident to complete my cactus and start the next.
All the equipment needed to complete the project was provided in the cost of the workshop.
I would recommend this starter class.

This course was disappointing. The member of staff teaching it was nice however, she was reading from an instruction leaflet and was no more experienced than me in fluid painting. She also spent as much time helping other customers find what they were looking for (totally irrelevant to the workshop) as she did on teaching the class. The workshops clearly take place on the shop floor to sell the products but the staff teaching them should focus on the customers in the workshop and what they are there to teach.

The workshop was very good. Everything provided in a box, that was like opening a lovely present. The teacher help and provided guidance, although it was pretty much down to each person to decide how to design their wreath. An hour was long enough to finish.

Attended the beginners crochet workshop on 19 February at Hobby craft Derby. Venue was good lots of free parking and light and airy inside store.
Instructors Miriam and Kayleigh were welcoming, friendly and very patient. Was impressed with materials provided although have made a mental note not to use acrylic yarn until I am more skilled as it tends to split.
With everything included in the workshop I would say £25 was a fair charge and I would definitely considered another one in the future.

I thought the class was very good value for money. I liked the materials and the teachers, Miriam especially, had the patience of saints! We were taught how to hold the crochet hook, cast on and stitch techniques. This is going to require some practise so not a great amount of crocheting was achieved. The class size was perfect (just 3 of us). Overall I would definitely recommend this class.

Clare offered all the support we needed and how we can get support in the future as well. The pack you get is great and gives you more than you need (just annoying about the stickers on the side of the pots - HQ take note!).

Miriam the teacher was absolutely amazing! Very friendly, patient & knowledgeable. I am new to Cricut & can’t quite decide which model I want to buy. The workshop is perfect for any starters, Miriam asked lots of questions about what I wanted from my machine etc, then explained the different functions available. She showed me how the app works & we had a go at printing, cutting & weeding out vinyl. I’ll definitely be buying a Cricut once I’ve researched the 2 models on my shortlist. Miriam offered advice on what tools / boards would be good for starters, I’ve come away quite confident knowing that I can come back to Hobbycraft to ask for more advice once I’ve made my purchase! Can’t wait to get started.

Squeezed on a table in the store with kids noisily running around . Why not put the craft area upstairs at the backmaybe make a screen?
A bit more instruction or going around the table to advise would have been nice but the girl was very nice.

Workshop was great, I struggled with the thumb method of casting on at the course but have utubed the twin needle method and that's so much easier for me. I already knew how to knit, having learnt 45 years ago but was a bit rusty and was shown how to master knitting again, also taught purl stitch and casting off. I now feel confident in my ability to continue knitting and complete a project.

My teacher Katie in Derby was brilliant. I think the training area needs to be moved some people might feel nervous and exposed to customers walking around them.
I think you could do with better materials. Also better if the teacher knows beforehand exactly what the person needs from the lesson. Couldn’t fault Katie though. Not sure about £15 charge maybe needs to reflect individual needs in the class some I think should be cheaper some depending on materials used could be more expensive. Also people should take their own machines , I was lucky they had my machine type to practice on but that might not be the case for everyone, and the sim is surely to get to know your own machine and it’s capabilities. Having said everything, I love that I was able to do it invaluable for me to get going with a machine again.

Two lovely ladies both showed us the way giving us alternate ideas and allowing us the time to go at our own pace. It was a nice relaxed atmosphere felt like being in the company of friends whilst learning a new skill in a fun way. It was good value for money too with all the necessary equipment handed to you in a box which was yours to take away along with new ideas and suggestions for continuing your newfound hobby. The instructor was brilliant - really patient and adaptable. I learnt to knit a very long time ago, but had not knitted anything for 30+ years and had forgotten what to do. She changed the way she taught me the stitches to fit with my previous experience. Can’t thank her enough for reminding me why I used to enjoy knitting, and that it’s easy. Venue was fine. Pack contents were good.

Didnt learn much came out more confused than before i attended, asked how to do what i thought was a simple task -( txt on a shape) and had to change my notes two or three times because it didnt work. The cricut machine wasnt behaving well according to instructor. I have since purchased a book which explains all icons and how to use them.

Excellent session. Sarah at Derby store answered loads of questions. She encouraged me to have a go. I learnt how to choose a design, put it through the cricut machine, weed it and ironed it to a tote bag. Well worth tge money. I found our later that she is the store manager. A lovely friendly and professional session.

Miriam was our teacher, she explained the steps really clearly and instructed Millie with enthusiasm, I chatted to Miriam during the session about other crafts and she was super helpful. Yet again Miriam was great in this session. Very knowledgeable & happy to answer any questions. Materials were provided for us to cut and weed a small shape and then we were shown how to place this onto a small glass. We encountered some issues with one of the vinyls not cutting well so this gave great insight of what to do when things don’t always work the first time round!

My daughters had an excellent time at the card making workshop. They both received a big box jam packed full of craft items such as pens, stickers, paint, card blanks, a paint your own ceramic tea light holder, pipe cleaners, pom poms etc. The contents came wrapped in beautiful pink tissue paper so it was like they were opening a present. Their eyes lit up when they were told that they could keep everything in the box and this will definitely keep them entertained for weeks. The teacher had made some examples of cards they could make using the items they had but let them make what they wanted. All in all such wonderful staff, an excellent box stuffed full of goodies that any child would love and guaranteed fun for weeks on end. Would highly recommend. I would say that this is also suitable for older children than 7 if they are into crafting.

The tutor was very knowledgeable, tried a few different materials for the cricut machine. This is a Christmas present so will be booking another tutorial again in the new year. The only slight negative is that it was standing up for over an hour, as I suffer with back problems, would have been better seated, but this is a personal opinion. Really enjoyed my time at hobby craft Derby.

The workshop leader was great. We got to pick additional embellishments from the store at no extra cost which really complimented our wreath designs. I had enough embellishments left over, that I bought a small wreath after the workshop and made another one! The store manager bought the workshop group mince pies which was a lovely addition. My first workshop, was very impressed and I would love to do another one soon.

Fantastic, friendly, helpful tutor.
Never done a workshop before but 3 generations enjoyed it.
The kit contains everything you need but they gave you extra decorations, if you wanted them. Good value.
Various ideas, so no 2 were the same. Lovely group of ladies.
It now feels like Christmas, I would highly recommend the Derby store.

I was quite annoyed that having been given the kit, we were left to get on with the wreath on our own. I could have done that at home! It was an enjoyable hour spent in pleasant company but I will not be attending any more of your workshops.

I enjoyed the beginners brush lettering class, first one I've taken at Hobbycraft, it's harder than you think! Came away thinking practice is key. Jo the class tutor was lovely very friendly and chatty, and tried all hints and tips. The kit was great too, overall a good experience.

Disappointing that I was the only participant.
Friendly, chatty demonstrator (Janice)who made me feel relaxed.
Workshop table needs to be in a less exposed area of the shop.
Not enough time to complete project but Janice gave me a copy of the instructions to be able to complete at home.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop on fillable baubles. Carol was very patient (with me!) and took time to explain the process. Overall I feel that the workshop was very good value for money as we were issued with a generous box of materials to use. There was a good space to work in with good lighting.

Miriam was a wonderful teacher. Very informative, answered all my questions fully and honestly.
All materials were provided to trial making a paper rolled flower. This gave me a chance to see how to use design space for a simple template from cricut access. How to place the material onto the mat and load it into the cricut and then how to removed the cut material and turn it into a flower.

Miriam was extremely knowledgeable and explained the capabilities and functions of the Explore 3 well. She was very approachable and happy to answer any questions I had as well as offering advice. The venue probably could have done with more space but the lighting was very good. We used cardboard and vinyl to produce a card greeting and a (cut out?). Overall I found it very good value for money.

Really enjoyed the workshop today. Miriam was very confident in her presentation and thorough but concise with explanations. Also really friendly and approachable.
We tried both the pens and sheets with mixed results, which is good in itself. Really appreciated being able to work with the materials before committing to purchase. I thought the length of time was just right and was able to ask questions as we went along and afterwards. I would definitely recommend Hobbycraft workshops to others.

Miriam was fantastic. She asked where I was starting from and when I said 'zero' that was exactly where she started. Everything was explained really clearly and Miriam provided hints and tips that she had learned from her own experience. This was well worth the small cost, I learned so much and no longer feel anxious about using my Cricut machine.

Teacher was really patient with a literal beginner. The other two girls had at least held a crochet hook before! My daughter expects to get it perfectly right first time and quickly gets impatient and frustrated with herself, but your teacher was brilliant at keeping her calm and encouraged so she broke through the difficult bit and was (slowly) making steady progress. really good.
