Throughout the year, Hobbycraft host a variety of workshops in stores and online, designed to give everyone the opportunity to master a new craft or refine a long-time favourite. Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

Attended the beginner crochet class and Ellie was a great teacher! As a total novice I was concerned that I wouldn't learn much in 90 minutes but I was wrong! Came away with a good foundation to work on and loved that you get all the kit to use and take away with you. Would highly recommend:)

My daughter did the pipe cleaner flowers and wands workshop. She enjoyed talking to the teacher and making two wands. There was a wide selection of beads to decirate the wands. It was disappointing that there wasn't enough time to make pipecleaner flowers as we expected to do both flowers and wands, not choose from the two.

My daughter (5) really enjoyed making the monsters. The class teacher was Freya - she was lovely with the children. It is good value for money - we could not have bought all the resources in all the colours for the same price. We will definitely do more of these! 30 minutes was the perfect amount of time.

Ellie was a patient teacher. She explained things well and is obviously passionate about crochet. We covered most of the basics in 90 minutes. It is a good foundation to build on. Everything you need for the course is included.

I bought a crochet lesson for my mum for Christmas and we went along today to the Bath store. Ellie our teacher was so lovely and welcoming. She was very patient as I was brand new to crochet. I felt we learnt at a good pace and I actually was able to do it. The little bag of equipment was nice and I liked the wool.

Ellie was an excellent teacher and prepared the materials with care and thought to aid our learning.

I enjoyed the course a great deal and thought it was worth the money. However felt that if it was on a 1 to 1 or 1 to 2 basis we would have covered all the stitch types instead of just the one.

I feel as a knitter, crocheting is much harder and we potentially needed the course to be 2 hours.

Fun children's activity, friendly and enthusiastic teacher (Abi) and easy to follow instructions. Could have done with being a bit longer and with better organisation - time was lost due to the teacher having to go and get extra materials (though to her credit she was more than happy to do so). Be aware it is held on the shop floor so might be a bit noisy! Decent value for a fiver.

Half term activity for my grandchildren.
Emily was absolutely superb. Fun, informative, kind and encouraging.
Venue was good.
The provision of materials was amazing. 2 canvases for each plus paint.
They learnt a new skill of painting on canvas using sponges and tape.
Brilliant value. Would definitely book again.
The whole experience was a great way to end the half term as they go home tonight.

Purpose of my one to one was Getting the right sewing machine.

After many years doing other crafts and hobbies I wanted to get behind the sewing machine again.
The assistant was very friendly and helpful. The i machine had my eye on happened to be the same one the assistant had at home. We went through all the other machines and what they could offer but I went back to the one i was thinking of.
I can’t wait to get started. Thank to the friendly staff and advice at the Bath store.
I know I will return for supplies.

Freya was my teacher, friendly person & very knowledgeable. I learnt how to use a sewing machine & some troubleshooting to do with the machine. I then was able to have a go myself & ask some questions on projects I'm currently doing.
Definitely worth doing if you don't know any thing about sewing.

It was lovely, the kit and equipment provided were brilliant and we were able to quickly get the hang of what we were doing. Harriet who ran the session was lovely and very good at giving advice on techniques. The location in the middle of an aisle wasn’t ideal as there were a lot of people squashing past and a lot who wanted help and interrupted to ask before being redirected to other staff.

So happy with my wreath. There was a miscommunication between the hobbycraft systems so they were not expecting to host a workshop however all the store staff were great. My instructor was super relaxed and friendly. I would definitely recommend a hobbycraft workshop.

Had a brilliant time at this workshop. Our instructor, Vikki was such a joy to be with and helpful throughout. All the materials were provided and although we were given suggestions and direction, the general notion was to make out wreaths our own and tailored to our own style.
Was a really comforting and great experience. Do wish that perhaps the workshop wasn't held right on the shop floor in the aisles but apart from that, was a really great day, lots of fun and good value for money.

Ellie was very patient and great at explaining different ways to do things. The materials provided were great., and Ellie was very knowledgeable in the field of crocheting, recommending beginners books and the Hobbycraft website to help us at home .
I wish you could be in a separate room or at least a corner of the shop rather than in the middle as everyone walks by and watches. At one point Ellie had to go off and sort a problem at the till out as she was the only member of staff. This seemed like bad planning as we had paid for The time with Ellie. She was very apologetic and wasn’t gone for long , I could get on but my friend was finding crochet very tricky so just had to sit and wait.

We apologise that Ellie was taken away from the table in your time slot, she is the only person that knows how to crochet in our store, so we have to fit in around her. By all means book an earlier workshop with her another time and we will look to have her in with another manager to help with the tills and questions from staff. Lovely member of staff running the workshop and a nice simple craft for kids to do. Only negative was that the setup felt a little last minute and resources weren't quite ready or presented all that excitingly! But the member of staff sorted things once we had started and was really lovely with the kids.

Acrylic paint pouring was great fun and had me feeling like a child! The teacher was clear in her instructions and encouraged us with praise throughout. I was excited to bring home the rest of the kit to experiment some more. Wear old clothes as it can be a bit messy but I thoroughly recommend the class.

I found my teacher, Lydia, to be very helpful when I approached her with queries about tailoring clothes to fit my size. She provided me with a thorough explanation on how to achieve that.

HobbyCraft Bath offers a sewing machine in-store, so you don't need to bring your own equipment.

The one-on-one tutoring session, which cost £20, is very
valuable. I was able to ask about everything I wished to know.

I left the workshop feeling more confident and knowledgeable about tailoring my own clothes.

Easy location.
Good value - especially as bought with a Hobbycraft discount. I’m a single mum with no maintenance from ex so appreciate this kind of workshop when under £20. And great that hook and yarn included.
Also hugely impressed/grateful that Emily said that we could pop into shop anytime and ask for help with any projects.

Harriet was very good with a six year old, really kind and engaged. The set up was ok but the chairs were way too low for under tens to work on the table. So, definitely the chairs need to be changed or make the table lower for classes of under tens. It was much enjoyed and was not expensive at half term rates.

Great craft to do to kickstart our Christmas, the materials and equipment supplied were really good. April, our teacher was really friendly and couldn’t be more helpful and we had a lovely time.

Needs to be longer to learn or be 1:1 to benefit absolute beginners.

I took my twins who were nearly four. They really enjoyed this craft and the lady running the craft was so lovely and helpful. They enjoyed putting the beads on the legs. Really good easy craft for there age.

The teacher was knowledgeable and was good at imparting that knowledge. She was friendly and professional. As I was the only person at the workshop, we were able to go at my pace.
The venue was fine. Had there been more people at the workshop, it might have been a bit cramped?
In terms of the materials supplied - everything I needed for the workshop was there.
I think it was good value for money.
I learnt several embroidery stitches, and how to start and finish off a piece of embroidery.
What I liked most was the friendly teacher and being able to cover a bit more than planned in the hour and a half.

I had always wanted to do acrylic paint pouring so when I saw this one -hour course, I booked it immediately. I was the only one there so had one-to-one tuition from Lydia. The pack of paints etc was very impressive and had everything I needed in it. We did two pours and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was able to take home everything that I'd not used so will be creating more masterpieces soon. I would very much recommend this course to anyone.

Vikki couldn’t have been lovelier with Sophie, she made her feel very special, and was really encouraging! She showed Sophie how to create a beautiful deign using the acrylic paints. Had a super fun and relaxing session with Dan today - He was very friendly, helpful, and patient! I was taught 3 different acrylic pouring techniques, and went home with 3 completed artwork (along with the remaining canvas + equipments in the art kit and a liquid art panel) Would highly recommend this workshop to anyone who’s new to/interested in having a go at acrylic paint pouring! Great workshop. Finished product looked great, there was enough materials for the kids to do more if they were super speedy, and if they like to take their time they were able to take the little eggs home to do at home. Aimee was really lovely providing tips without being bossy or directive and very patiently answered about a million questions on hobby craft, hobby craft radio, student discount, mobile phones and university. We really enjoyed this workshop. It was led by Lucy (who had lovely handwriting) she showed us how to make the marks and how to complete the letters. We were also encouraged to adapt our own handwriting so we were comfortable with the techniques.
The kit was fun to open and contained everything we needed, all reasonable quality supplies, plenty to take home to practice. We didn't feel pressured to buy anything else while we were there.
The session was in the open space of the store so no feelings of overcrowding.
It was great to have time actually at a workshop rather than zoom.

I really felt for the staff, she was unable to provide the baubles which is what we had booked for. Although there was alternative items it was a shame the baubles weren’t there as my children were looking forward to making them.

Really good course, Harriet was a great teacher, my daughter absolutely loved the experience. We were provided with a large box of materials that I'm pretty sure cost more than what we paid for the course. A wonderful selection that we were allowed to take home and which we will use for months to come. I thoroughly recommend it. My daughter made at least 5 Christmas cards that she's really proud of. The class was fantastic! The kit came with so much in to produce many Christmas decorations. The lady leading the session was extremely enthusiastic, encouraging and full of ideas and tips.

We originally booked this session for a month earlier but due to covid had to contact Hobbycraft to cancel. The staff were so helpful and instead of cancelling gave us a list of dates to rearrange. They went above and beyond my expectations in terms of excellent customer service.

My three children and I really enjoyed our time paining. It was really good value for money. The teacher was helpful and chatty. We would have liked another ten minutes to finish off as we spent 5-10 minutes choosing what to paint which I didn’t realise would use up our allotted time. My children are older- 10,13 &15 and wanted to create something nice and not rush.

What was the teacher like? - absolutely lovely, made lots of conversation with the children and clearly enjoyed her job. She was really knowledgeable and helpful.
How was the venue? - ideal.
If materials were provided, did you like them? - yes, all perfect.
Was the class good value for money? - it was a lot, we used to come to all of the workshops and the prices have increased hugely. To do the workshop with two children today was a lot of money (£70). It just meant that I spent less in the store whereas usually we would have a shop afterwards.
What did you do / learn? - made advent calendars. Would have been really helpful to have some pictures / inspo, especially for the children.

I just bought a Cricut Explore 3 and wanted to know more about its capability and features. I had a great one on one session with Lucy who was able to show me various designs the machine could do. I found her knowledge and hints and tips really useful. I would definitely recommend a workshop to get fully knowledgeable about the machine so you can get creating to your hearts content.

I booked the class for 2 of my daughters. Cat and Lucy were both very helpful, patient and kind.
Both of my daughters have autism and sometimes struggle with crafts and group activities. Cat and Lucy made them feel at ease and they helped them with each step of the class. We will be booking again in the future

Cat and Lucy was amazing they are both are very knowledgeable when it comes to the cricut not just with different projects but settings etc I walked away feeling more confident in getting better results and definitely trying different projects.

Excellent workshop. My 5 year old daughter enjoyed making the different bracelets. The box that was supplied has enough materials to make many more bracelets at home.

My 12 yr old granddaughter really enjoyed the class, she came away feeling confident to complete the work at home, the teacher was patient, soft spoken and explained very clearly on what to do.
The hobby box came with everything she needed and was great value for money. This is the second class she has attended and she has enjoyed them both, I will be looking out for future classes for her/myself , thank you Hobbycraft .

Lucy was very helpful, even if she didn't have access to materials and tools to completely solve my queries. However she has now contacted the main Cricut advisor in store and I have had a resolution to my questions by e-mail which is great.
I do feel the information sent out before the session should advise bringing in the tools you want to work with and, in the case of Cricut, a laptop if that is how you normally design and work on Cricut items. Not being able to see different products being used and no ability to investigate settings on a different device made this not quite as good as it could have been.
