What you'll do
Our half term workshops are a great way to get the kids inspired and make something fun and functional. Not only is it a lovely way to spend time with them, it is brilliant for inspiring their creativity, doing something IRL and away from screens, and giving them a sense of accomplishment and achievement.And of course it’s Halloween half term, so expect some spooky makes, whether it’s pumpkins, witches hats, bats or ghosties! ️ We have a facilitator in the classroom who can help out and offer advice if you get stuck, or you have questions. Parkway Arts is a handbuilding pottery studio, so your kids (and you!) will be able to get started super quick without having to learn how to use tricky machinery first. Working in strong, durable stoneware clay, once your piece is fired, it will be microwave and dishwasher proof. All clay, underglaze and transparent glaze is included in the price.Once your pieces are ready, we will bisque, glaze with transparent glaze, and finally glaze fire them for you. We will let you know once they are done so you can either come in and collect (usually about 2 - 4 weeks later), or we can arrange shipment at an extra cost.Pottery really is a brilliant way to inspire both you and your children, practice mindfulness, and enjoy the creative process. And if you love it as much as the kids do, we have classes for adults too!

Parkway Arts CIC is a community pottery and arts studio based in Didcot, Oxfordshire. The studio began after founder Jenni was made redundant, and found her outlet for the emotional roller coaster redundancy gave her was craft, particularly pottery. She found it was an excellent way to increase her sense of wellbeing, focus on the ‘here and now’ and widen her social circle outside the office. As time went on, she knew she couldn’t return to corporate life, and decided to take the core of what she had discovered on her journey and try to make it available to all. The idea of Parkway Arts became a seed of an idea that would flourish into the studio it is today.Offering classes in crafts such as hand building pottery, mosaic, silver metal clay and more, the studio is a warm, welcoming space where your skill level is no barrier to your ability to have fun and get stuck in! Our facilitators are on hand to help you when you hit a bump in the road, and guide you towards making your very own work of art! And if you get really addicted? Well there’s always our studio memberships giving you access to the space when the creative juices start to flow.We can’t wait for you to come and join us, learn some new skills, polish some rusty ones and enjoy the community!
