Join us for an inspiring drawing class in Manchester, hosted at Bembe Café, a cosy artisan café and micro-bakery known for its beautifully made bakes, quality coffee and warm community feel.In this relaxed and creative workshop, you’ll learn the art of creating intricate geometric patterns inspired by the breathtaking designs of the Alhambra Palace. Our friendly expert instructors will guide you step by step through the process of constructing patterns, making the session welcoming and accessible whether you’re a complete beginner or already enjoy drawing.We’ll explore the rich history of Islamic geometric art and how the patterns of the Alhambra reflect centuries of Muslim and Andalusian culture. You’ll discover how geometry, symmetry and repetition come together to create art that feels both mathematical and deeply expressive.The workshop is split into two parts. In the first half, you’ll learn how to construct geometric patterns using traditional tools such as pencil, ruler and compass, with plenty of guidance and support throughout. In the second half, you’ll bring your final design to life using colour, with a choice of watercolours, coloured pencils and oil pastels.Set inside Bembe Café, this session offers the perfect opportunity to slow down, get creative and enjoy a welcoming space, with freshly baked goods and a thoughtfully curated menu available to purchase during the workshop, including dishes influenced by Arab flavours and heritage.You’ll leave the session with your own finished artwork, a deeper appreciation for geometric art and its cultural roots, and a real sense of achievement.Join us for a creative and uplifting experience where history, pattern and imagination come together.________________________________________
