From Pen to Page: A South Manchester Writers Workshop

Spend an evening hearing stories from the South Manchester Writers, then create your own. You'll listen to an eclectic mix of voices reading poetry, humour, flash fiction, narrative fiction, thriller, and romance – including the experienced thriller author Martin Griffin – a 45-minute showcase of drama, wit, and suspense designed to spark your imagination. Then, after a short break, you'll move into a hands-on writing workshop where a seasoned teacher will guide you to transform that inspiration into an original piece of your own.This is a brilliant way to experience creative writing from both sides: as an audience member soaking in the work of established writers, and as a writer discovering what you can create when you're inspired. You'll learn composition techniques and approaches through the workshop part, but mostly you'll be encouraged to find your own voice and ideas.
