- Enjoy a demonstration of all the brush strokes that you will need to create your folk art designs.
- Strokes covered are comma stroke, fine lines, and dots.
- In addition, you will have an introduction to the flat brush!
- After some practice time for each technique, you will be guided through a pattern to produce your own hand-painted notebook.
- Time allowing, you will also be able to complete gift tags or greetings cards!

From the A34 at the Botley interchange take the A420 south signposted Swindon and then the second exit on the A420 to Cumnor after about two miles. At the end of the slip road turn right, then in a few yards turn right again at the T-junction onto the B4017, going over the A420 and left into Cumnor village. Enter the one-way system past the Vine pub and continue into High Street with St Michael's Church on your left. Go over the mini-roundabout taking the right fork; after three hundred yards there is a sign pointing to the United Reformed Church. Turn left from High Street into Leys Road - the Village Hall is on the corner. You will then see the church on the right-hand side of the road (red brick with a bright blue door) There are a limited number of parking spaces outside the church. Alternatively, there is a small car park behind the Old School in Cumnor behind the village shop.

I have always enjoyed art and craft of some kind, but I have always been particularly interested in folk art painting. In 2017, my husband and I bought a Dutch barge and motored it all the way from the Netherlands to our hometown at the top of the Thames. We already owned a narrowboat, and I fell in love with canal art and folk art from around the world.When I learned that I was going to be made redundant from my university teaching job, I decided to set up a craft business. I knew that folk art painting and dot mandala painting were what I wanted to teach, so The Crafty Boater was born. I now teach and run local craft markets.
