Folk Art Christmas Baubles Workshop

Create hand-painted Christmas baubles in Oxfordshire.

3 hours Class size 1 to 8 guests       £45

Get ready to decorate your Christmas tree with your own hand-painted folk art wooden Christmas baubles.
You will start the day with coffee and a short introduction to the workshop and the tools you will be using. This will be followed by a demonstration from the tutor of each of the brush strokes needed to complete the designs.
You will then spend some time using pre-printed designs, practising your newly learned brush strokes. You will then be guided through each design step by step with the tutor to complete two designs from the choice of a Christmas tree, a spray of mistletoe, or a snowflake.
This workshop is beginner-friendly, so no previous knowledge of folk art painting is necessary. However, this workshop is considered a next step if you have already completed the taster class 'Introduction to Folk Art Painting' workshop. The workshop aims to provide a fun, festive, relaxed way to learn the basic techniques of folk art painting.

I have always enjoyed art and craft of some kind, but I have always been particularly interested in folk art painting. In 2017, my husband and I bought a Dutch barge and motored it all the way from the Netherlands to our hometown at the top of the Thames. We already owned a narrowboat, and I fell in love with canal art and folk art from around the world.
When I learned that I was going to be made redundant from my university teaching job, I decided to set up a craft business. I knew that folk art painting and dot mandala painting were what I wanted to teach, so The Crafty Boater was born. I now teach and run local craft markets.
