This vibrant course is designed for artists of all levels who are passionate about capturing the essence of nature’s seasonal splendour.
Join us as we explore a kaleidoscope of global flora, each representing the unique hues and textures of spring and summer. From the delicate cherry blossom of Japan, to the array of petals on the dahlias of Mexico, you’ll learn to illustrate a diverse collection of flowers, all blooming in harmony.
Guided by Clare (fine line illustrator), you’ll start the day with an introduction to the symbolism of flowers across different cultures.
Through hands-on demonstrations, you’ll master various illustration techniques, colour pencil/pen and fine liner, to bring your floral visions to life.
In a supportive and creative environment, you’ll:
  • Gain insight into selecting colour palettes that evoke the warm and rich tones of spring and summer.
  • Develop your own unique style while experimenting with different mediums.
  • Create a stunning, multi-floral composition that encapsulates the beauty of spring and summer from a global perspective.
By the end of the day, you will have crafted an exquisite piece of art that showcases the seasonal diversity and vibrant beauty of national flowers. Whether you’re looking to enhance your artistic skills, or simply enjoy a day of creative exploration, Global Blooming offers a unique opportunity to celebrate the world’s botanical wonders in full glory.

About Me
I have been an artist nearly all my life. I can not quench my thirst for art making, and as a result went on to study it for 10 years at the University of Chester whilst also teaching art full time. It was a pleasure and a privilege to be invited back to the University of Chester as a visiting lecturer on the PGCE Art programme. I find this part time role very rewarding and combine it with my own art workshops, classes and commissions.
I am a mum to a gorgeous little girl and have a wonderful husband, who appreciates my love of art and more than anything puts up with the mess! We live in Cheshire with our two rescue cats, Lyra and Lynx. I love running, I find it a wonderful de-stressor, and being in nature is always a good source of inspiration for my art.
I have had the pleasure of travelling widely, including backpacking around Australia in my early twenties. Life has certainly thrown me some trials and tribulations but the running thread throughout it all, the one constant, has been my art and my family, which I couldn’t live without!
