Part One
Science-Fiction Writing: Saturday 13th June
Zap! Welcome to the world of science fiction! Inspired by Ursula K. Le Guin, Octavia Butler, and H. G. Wells, we’ll be talking about what sci-fi is, what it can be used to do, and how to write it ourselves!
We’ll be navigating different elements you can include in your science fiction work, from things that beep to futuristic politics, visors and lightsabers to cheat codes for creating your own futuristic language.
We’ll also talk about how just one word can place your reader firmly in the science fiction world you’ve imagined.
You won’t want to miss it! See you there, Martians!
Part Two
Romance Writing: Saturday 18th July
Want to write something truly swoonworthy? A scene that’s so electric with tension, your reader already has their hand ready to turn the page? Or dialogue that’s rich with banter and chemistry but still sounds real? Or how about a moment so dreamy, your reader can’t stop replaying it in their head?
Then please do join us for our romance writing course! We’ll be talking about how to get sparks flying off the page, writing natural dialogue, and how to set up your characters in the first place so they’re on a destined course for romance. How dreamy! See you there.
Part Three
Children's Literature: Saturday 15th August
Hi there! Interested in children’s literature and want to write your own? Look no further! Drawing from incredible writers like Roald Dahl, Astrid Lindgren, and Lemony Snicket, we’ll be exploring the wonderful world of children’s literature!
We’ll be looking at how to use all the tools in our arsenal to have fun on the page, such as typography, lists, and maps, as well as how to get the tone and age right for your audience!
Whether you’ve got an idea that could turn into something more, or you just want to give it a try, please do come along and join us!

One of the things you learn in life is that telling stories and capturing them is so important. Many people have bought things to capture stories, whether it's a camera, microphone, video camera, or even a notebook, and don't ever get down to doing it because they don't really know how to do it, ” Simon Hepburn, Owner of Share Your Story.
Share Your Story first opened its doors in May 2025. It is a creative hub in the heart of Altrincham where you can receive the help, inspiration, and support to tell stories that create lasting impressions about the important things in your life.
Share Your Story is a unique space, with a fully equipped creative studio at the back which is available for hire for podcasting, video, and photography. Within this space, Share Your Story also provides courses in photography, writing, and creative content.
