Looking for fun couples' activities or date night ideas in Bristol? Bring your partner and enjoy some squeaky-clean fun at this soap making workshop!
Run by local crafter Karen at her home workshop, you and your other half can enjoy learning to make soap the traditional way using fine, natural ingredients. After some deft demonstrations of Karen's soap-making prowess, it'll be your turn to roll up your sleeves and start making your own soap!
You'll be guided through each step of the process of a honey and oatmeal soap that smells good enough to eat — fortunately you'll also have drinks and cake to nibble on instead! Your finished soap loaf will be enough to cut into five or six bars — ideal for sharing.
Don't worry if this is your first time trying anything like this, as Karen will be on hand throughout the session to offer you the benefits of her experience, ensuring you leave with a loaf of soap that you can be proud of, along with your newfound skills and, of course, some wonderful memories.

I'm Karen, owner of Margaret May Soaps and passionate artist. I've always loved traditional, handmade soap and using natural ingredients, and I can't wait to pass on these skills to you through my fun soap making workshops.
The name of the business is my grandmother's, Margaret May, which appears as MMaySoaps in the logo and stamped onto the soaps. Margaret May was a strong and feisty independent Somerset farmer’s wife. She set up several small businesses herself. She was fascinated when I went to art school and then went travelling. She would have loved these products and the local business ethos. She would also have been familiar with soap making on the farm especially in her childhood and during the war.
Whether you're looking for hen party ideas, a date night with a difference or just want something fun and creative to do, give one of my workshops a go.
