About Calli by Steph

Calli by Steph is a cursive calligraphy and creative lettering service based in Manchester. Founded by Steph — a calligrapher with a love for slowing down and finding calm through creativity.

From a young age, Steph was drawn to handwriting, taking real pride in detail, neatness and the way words looked on the page.

But, around ten years ago, that interest deepened with the discovery of brush pens. By working through a range of calligraphy books, experimenting with techniques and practising consistently, Steph developed her own modern lettering style.

What began as a personal creative outlet soon became something more meaningful. Calligraphy grew into not just a skill, but a grounding and mindful process — and eventually, a business.

Steph has recently moved into hosting workshops, as they allow her to share her joy and passion for calkigraphy with others.

Steph says, "There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing people arrive with little or no experience, and leave with something they’re genuinely proud of — or pleasantly surprised by. Sometimes that surprise is the lettering itself; other times, it’s realising they were able to slow down, be patient, and enjoy the process."

At Calli by Steph, everything is created with intention. From modern calligraphy workshops to live event lettering and bespoke pieces, the focus is on creativity without pressure, progress over perfection, and enjoying the process as much as the final result.
