Join a Hobbycraft Colleague in store for a One-to-one and ask any questions you have about Knitting. Stuck on a project? Need help with understanding a pattern? Trying to get to grips with a new stitch? Our craft expert will share tips and techniques tailored to you.

This is suitable for complete beginners as well as new Knitters looking for that next step on, providing the opportunity to get all the answers you need. It’s a great way to gain confidence with your craft, troubleshoot any problems you’re having with your current project in an easy, direct way or learn about stitches you’re not as confident with yet.

During the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to let your Artisan know what you would like to focus on during the session. They’ll be able to prepare for a personalised workshop that answers all of your questions.

You’re sure to walk away a knitting pro, ready to take your designs to a new level!

Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Keeping everyone safe

At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

  • 5/5 from Keighley Jones, attended Feb 2026: Ellie was a great teacher, she was very patient and helped me to relax. She taught me the different types of stitches that I would need to know to complete my chosen project. I have never knitted before and with Ellie I was able to learn knit stitch, purl stitch and casting on and off. I brought some wool to continue practicing before I start my project, looking forward to continuing to learn.
  • 5/5 from Caitlin, attended Mar 2025: Ellie was amazing - she checked in with me before the session to make sure I was aware of what the session entailed. I took a project I am working on, which is a Hobbycraft pattern, and Ellie found the pattern and checked over it before I arrived so she was prepared. The time spent with Ellie was amazing, she helped me understand my pattern and where I was struggling and helped me get going again, even showing me alternative options of what I can do. Thank you so much!
  • 5/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Aug 2024: Thanks Ellie for a lovely session, it was really helpful! I can now do the pearl and knit stitch!
  • 5/5 from Sema, attended May 2024: Really brilliant class. Experienced, patient teacher. The class flew by and will be booking more
  • 5/5 from Kynat Robinson, attended Jan 2024: Ellie was brilliant and went through the instructions explaining abbreviations and patterns for future proofing the pattern. She also taught me how to start the knit. Very friendly and attentive!
