Stained Glass Poppy Lightcatcher Workshop

Create a beautiful stained glass poppy in red, white or purple, and make a meaningful keepsake to treasure or gift.

4 hours Location Oakley Class size 1 to 3 guests   £57

Create a beautiful stained glass poppy lightcatcher in this hands-on workshop, making a meaningful decoration for your own home or a thoughtful handmade gift for someone special.
Choose your favourite design colour: a red poppy to remember those who have served and sacrificed, a white poppy to represent peace, or a purple poppy to honour animals affected by conflict.
With step-by-step guidance from your tutors, you’ll discover the skills behind this beautiful craft. Choose your glass from the collection available, then learn how to cut and smooth each piece to fit the pattern. You’ll wrap the edges in copper foil before soldering the pieces together to create your finished poppy.
Whether you’re drawn to the traditional red poppy or prefer the symbolism of white or purple, you’ll leave with a unique handmade lightcatcher to hang in a window, where the light can shine through the glass and bring your creation to life.
No previous experience is needed – this workshop is suitable for beginners, with all materials and tools provided. Please note that the colours and textures of glass available on the day may vary from those shown in the example pictures.
Important Safety Information
As this workshop involves cutting glass and working with heat, all safety instructions must be followed throughout the session. Due to the lead content of the materials used, this workshop is not suitable for pregnant or nursing mothers or children. Please wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing.
Book your place and create a stained glass poppy that’s beautiful to display and meaningful to give.
