In this collage workshop in Devon, we'll explore collage as a powerful creative tool -- experimenting with layering, typography, scale and juxtaposition. Our central theme will be nature, the environment and climate change.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and intermediates. You will develop a greater understanding of composition and visual storytelling, gaining practical techniques to strengthen your artistic voice.
There will be dedicated time to create and experiment in a supportive environment. Collage encourages new ways of seeing, thinking and making -- often leading to surprising and exciting results.
You will leave feeling inspired, creatively energised, and ready to continue your collaging journey.

Sam Treadaway

I am (Sam Treadaway he/him) a British artist living and working in South West England, identifying as neurodiverse. I studied Fine Art at Winchester School of Art followed by further training at Goldsmiths School of Art.
Within my interdisciplinary practice, I often make use of existing frictions between aesthetic form and utilitarian function to realign, edit, and transform found materials, objects, structures, and systems to generate new meanings and outcomes. The interplay between the arts and other fields of knowledge (such as science, music, scent, philosophy, and activism) often informs and inspires my practice as an artist.
I am currently offering multidisciplinary creative workshops with a focus on collage and bookbinding at venues in England, including:
Bristol Folk House, Bristol; Moorland Imagination Centre, Buckfastleigh; The Bookery, Crediton; and Exeter Phoenix, Exeter.
