Settle into a relaxed, beginner-friendly epoxy resin workshop in Nottingham, guided step by step from start to finish.
You'll begin by choosing your project – a beautiful set of resin coasters or a stylish serving board – then pick from a range of colours, pigments and effects to suit your own style. From there, you'll get a demonstration covering how epoxy resin works, including safe handling, mixing, colouring and pouring techniques, before getting hands-on with your own design.
You'll experiment with colour, movement and pattern as you go, building a one-of-a-kind piece that feels entirely personal to you – and there's no pressure to get it "right", just space to play and see what you create.
Suitable for adults aged 18+ only. All safety guidance will be clearly explained before you begin.

FAQ

Is this workshop suitable for under 18s?
No, this workshop is strictly for adults aged 18+ only due to the use of epoxy resin. We operate a Challenge 25 policy, so if you look under 25, you may be asked to show valid proof of age before taking part. Unfortunately, anyone unable to provide suitable ID when requested will not be able to join the workshop.
Do I need any previous resin or art experience?
Not at all. This workshop is designed to be beginner-friendly, and you’ll be guided through the process in a relaxed and supportive way. You do not need to be “arty” to enjoy it.
Can I take my finished piece home on the day?
Epoxy resin needs time to cure properly, so your finished piece will need to stay with us after the workshop. This helps make sure it sets safely and gets the best possible finish before collection. We can arrange posting them if required.

Is epoxy resin safe to use?
You’ll be shown how to work with resin safely before you begin. The workshop is run in a controlled environment, and I’ll explain the process clearly so you can enjoy being creative with confidence.
Can I make my piece as a gift?
Yes, absolutely. Many people choose colours and effects with someone special in mind, making it a lovely handmade gift once it has fully cured.

I started Local Art Shop after a love of art, making and bespoke picture framing grew into something much bigger. What began from home has grown into an established Nottingham art shop, workshop space and framing service, built on quality materials, honest advice and a real passion for helping people create.
Over the years, I’ve worked with everyone from complete beginners and local artists to schools, art groups, businesses, events and creative makers. I also demonstrate products and techniques for companies, and I’ve been invited to Makers Central at the NEC to show my work and help people understand more about art, resin and creative making.
My own work includes wood and resin pieces, tactile wall art, coffee tables and unique handmade designs, often combining traditional craft with modern materials. I love experimenting, problem-solving and showing people that art doesn’t have to feel intimidating.
Teaching is one of my favourite parts of what I do. I enjoy breaking techniques down in a friendly, practical way and watching people grow in confidence as they make something they’re proud of. Whether you’re a complete beginner or already creative, my workshops are relaxed, supportive and full of encouragement.
