Class size 1 to 5 (public classes), 3 to 6
  £55 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Join a taster throwing class in Bishop's Stortford and discover the art of pottery from the wheel up. You'll learn how to use a pottery wheel, create your own piece, and leave with your first wheel-thrown pot to call your own. As it’s a taster session, you will share the time between you and each learn from one another! Feel free to ask lots of questions as it can feel like a lot to remember the first time!
Don't worry if you're a complete beginner – an experienced instructor will guide you through each step, making sure you feel comfortable and confident as you work with the clay. You'll start by watching a demonstration to pick up the basics, before taking turns on the wheel yourself. There's plenty to learn from watching your fellow classmates too, as everyone finds their own way with the clay.
Working with clay is a properly therapeutic and rewarding way to spend a few hours, giving you the space to get creative in a fun, supportive environment. By the end of the class, you'll walk away with a newfound skill and a beautifully crafted pot, ready to proudly display at home.
What you'll get

Creativity has always been at the heart of who I am. As a qualified teacher and SENDCo, I have spent over 25 years helping people discover their confidence, develop new skills and enjoy the process of learning.
A number of yeara ago, I discovered pottery, and I was completely hooked.
What began as a curiosity quickly became a passion. There is something incredibly satisfying about taking a simple lump of clay and transforming it into something beautiful, functional and completely unique.
Today, I work from my own home studio, where I’ve created a welcoming, relaxed and friendly space for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy being creative.
I offer a range of workshops, including:
* Hand-building with clay and holiday workshops
* Pottery wheel throwing
* Glazing workshops
* Fused glass workshops
As well as regular classes, I also offer one-to-one tuition, small group sessions and bespoke workshops if there’s a particular technique or project you’d like to explore.
Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, looking for a mindful hobby or simply wanting to try something different, I’d love to help you create something you’ll be proud of.
I’d love to welcome you to my studio and share the joy of creating with clay and glass. Whether you’re looking for a new hobby, a unique experience or simply a few hours to switch off and make something with your own hands, there’s a place for you here.
