One-to-one Sewing Workshop

Join us in store and talk to a craft expert for tips and advice on your sewing machine or project!

1 hour Class size 1 on 1       £28

Join a Hobbycraft Colleague one-to-one and ask any questions you have about your sewing machine! Need help setting up your new machine? Want to learn about how to use certain tools and accessories? Getting stuck on a certain technique? Our craft expert will share tips and advice tailored to you.

This is suitable for beginners looking to get started in sewing, providing the opportunity to get all the answers you need. It’s a great way to get a feel for your sewing machine, troubleshoot any problems you’re having with your current project in an easy, direct way or learn about features you’re not as confident with yet.

During the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to let your Colleague know what you would like to focus on during the session. They’ll be able to prepare for a personalised workshop that answers all of your questions.

You’re sure to walk away a sewing pro, ready to take your designs to a new level!

*Please note that your workshop host will only have access to sewing machines that are currently stocked in Hobbycraft stores.

**Children 12 years and over can book onto this workshop but please note all children under the age of 18 will need parental/guardian supervision for the duration of the workshop.

Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Keeping everyone safe

At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

My tutor was informative and friendly, making the hour session fun. I had been having difficulties at home and I used my own machine and material, so I didn't ask if a machine or material were available. Difficulties all resolved, so I'm very happy. I've already told my daughter in law about the course and I'm planning to go to some more. Well worth the ten pound :)
  • 5/5 from Aurelia Ziwa, attended Aug 2021: My daughter had a one to one sewing lesson with a lovely lady called Claire. Claire was very kind and patient and friendly and my daughter came away having had the best hour with her. My daughter now has lots more confidence using her sewing machine and can’t wait to get started on more sewing projects. Excellent class and please keep offering them! Thank you to Claire for inspiring my daughter with her sewing.
  • 5/5 from Sara Scrivener, attended Aug 2021: Excellent value for money especially as resources were provided. Dan was really helpful, pitching the lesson at my own level. Would highly recommend to anyone who is beginning their sewing journey!
