Wax and Wine: Wax Carving Jewellery Workshop

Indulge in a creative evening at Wax & Wine pop-up class in Bristol.

3 hours Class size 1 to 14 guests       £65 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Grab a glass of wine and get ready for a gorgeous evening carving wax for jewellery at this workshop in Bristol. It’s a fun, creative Friday night activity, perfect to do with a group of friends, family, or as a couple in a fully accessible space.
Expert jewellers from Silver & Steel will guide you through the process of carving your very own jewellery. You can create cute charms, rings, or pendants – perfect to keep for yourself or to give as a unique Christmas present. You can even melt your fingerprint into the wax to make it extra sentimental.
You will learn how to size a ring or design a charm and get to practise modelling and sculpting with soft red wax. You can also carve your own details using hand tools into blue wax. Your tutors will explain the ancient process of lost wax casting. There's even an additional sand casting workshop offered for participants who want to give it a go themselves.
If you choose to have your piece cast, it will be sent off to Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter to be cast into silver and finished in-house at Silver & Steel, ready for collection or delivery.
You'll finish the evening having hung out in your favourite bar and made something truly new, with a wax model ready to be transformed into a lasting piece of personal jewellery.
Please note:
  • The workshop will be upstairs in the Mezzanine. Please ask staff for directions when you arrive.
  • Casting into silver and gold is extra depending on the weight of the item.
  • Gold plating in 18ct vermeil £50
  • Solid gold price quote on request
  • There is no obligation to cast, but once casting is agreed, there is an obligation to pay.
  • We don’t charge a markup on casting, so you just pay for what the piece costs.

Silver & Steel is an award winning, one of a kind jewellery workshop and gallery space in the heart of Bristol.
This is a contemporary Jewellery Gallery and Workshop space with a twist. Set up by local jeweller Bethany May Silver, Silver & Steel aims to make the jewellery industry more accessible and tackle fast fashion culture in jewellery buying habits. We have created a custom built space for jewellery making and are using it to platform local independent designers, introduce people to the craft and create a space for local makers to work and learn together.
Silver & Steel values community, accessibility and sustainability. We use 100% recycled silver in all of our workshops (gold available on request). We feel that coming together to learn, shop and invest in the craft is good for the future and we love to connect people with quality design that is light on the earth.
Jewellery making is an empowering experience and we are passionate about sharing that with people. Our workshops are taught by experienced professional jewellers with a collective teaching experience of over 30 years. We are rated 5* on google and have the best reviews in Bristol!
