What you'll do
Held at our Studio in Kempston West End (MK43 8RU)In this 4-week hand-building pottery course, you will learn how to create beautiful and functional ceramic pieces that you can proudly take home. Throughout the workshop, you will be guided step-by-step on how to mould and shape clay into various forms, such as bowls, cups, and vases.If you're new to pottery, do not worry! This class is designed for beginners, and we will provide a nurturing and supportive environment for you to explore your creativity. You'll feel at ease as you discover the joy of working with clay and the satisfaction of handcrafting your own unique pottery pieces.The class will be conducted in small groups, allowing for personalised attention, and all the materials and tools needed will be provided. You'll learn different hand-building techniques, such as pinch pot, coil, and slab construction, and experiment with surface decoration and glazing.By the end of the 4 weeks, you will witness a transformative journey as you proudly showcase your handcrafted pottery collection.What you'll get4-week course taking place throughout your selected month (please choose one) onwards, for 2 hours per session. We will cover all the basics of pottery and glazing. At the end of the course, you will take home all your finished pieces made during the course. This class series runs over 4 consecutive sessions, at the same time every week.Before You Book - Please Read:We're a small, independent pottery studio. We pour our hearts into every class and work hard to deliver beautiful results. Lead times: Ceramic pieces take approximately 6-8 weeks to fire - these are estimates and often take longer. We cannot speed this up or provide daily updates. Refund policy: We do not provide refunds for completed workshops or firing outcomes. High-temperature firing is unpredictable by nature. Turn off the main West End Road into Rushey Ford Business Park. We are in the first part of the Business Park, so as soon as you enter there is an area for parking with low brick walls, you can park anywhere here. Please come on in and make yourself welcome!
Your teacher can also travel within 50 miles of Bedford, to a venue of your choice for a private class.
