Creativity has always been at the heart of who I am. As a qualified teacher of Art, English and Drama, I have spent over 25 years helping people discover their confidence, develop new skills and enjoy the process of learning. Alongside my teaching career, I worked as a qualified and practising SENDCo for seven years, ensuring that every learner felt valued, supported and able to thrive.
Eight years ago, I discovered pottery, and I was completely hooked.
What began as a curiosity quickly became a passion. There is something incredibly satisfying about taking a simple lump of clay and transforming it into something beautiful, functional and completely unique. Throwing on the wheel challenged me in ways I hadn’t expected, teaching me patience, resilience and the joy of embracing imperfections. Every pot tells a story, and every piece teaches you something new.
Today, I work from my own home studio, where I’ve created a welcoming, relaxed and friendly space for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy being creative. Whether you’re trying clay for the very first time or looking to build your existing skills, my workshops are designed to be fun, supportive and inspiring.
I offer a range of workshops, including:
* Hand-building with clay
* Pottery wheel throwing
* Glazing workshops
* Fused glass workshops
As well as regular classes, I also offer one-to-one tuition, small group sessions and bespoke workshops if there’s a particular technique or project you’d like to explore. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, looking for a mindful hobby or simply wanting to try something different, I’d love to help you create something you’ll be proud of.
My background in education means I understand that everyone learns differently. I design my workshops to be inclusive and accessible, drawing on my experience as a teacher and SENDCo to ensure every participant feels comfortable, encouraged and successful. My aim is not perfection—it’s about enjoying the creative process, building confidence and leaving with a smile (and something handmade to treasure).
For me, pottery is about far more than making pots. It’s about slowing down, connecting with your creativity, meeting new people and discovering what you’re capable of. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing someone walk into the studio convinced they “aren’t artistic” and leave amazed at what they’ve created.
I’d love to welcome you to my studio and share the joy of creating with clay and glass. Whether you’re looking for a new hobby, a unique experience or simply a few hours to switch off and make something with your own hands, there’s a place for you here.
