What you'll get
- You will leave this workshop with a piece of unique sea glass jewellery and having experienced the joy of handmade design in a welcoming environment!
- The cost of the silver is not included in the workshop fees. The approximate cost of these materials is between £30-£50 and payable to the tutor on the day.
- All tools are included!
- Refreshments are available at our on-site café, Blend, until 4pm.
Knowledge required
Beginner-friendly, 18+.
What to bring
- Please bring an apron or wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
- Please remove all jewellery and tie long hair back.
- You are welcome to bring your own sea glass or sea pottery, but please be aware not all pieces will be suitable to set.
- You are welcome to bring a lidded bottle of water with you, but we kindly ask that you do not bring food into the studio.

Fiona Dowling
Fiona has 20 years of experience in the Jewellery Industry, a BA from Edinburgh College of Art and an MA from the Royal College of Art, London.
After years of making jewellery on her own, Fiona now loves making as part of a group and passing her skills on to others. She says, “It’s all about gathering together and feeling really satisfied with what you have created - where the experience is as precious the jewellery you’ve made. It’s amazing to see what can be created with a basic set of tools and some guidance.”

After the brewery’s closure in 1937, the site fell into disuse and was nearly lost to demolition. Thanks to a visionary local group, two of the remaining buildings were restored and transformed into craft workshops, opening as Cirencester Workshops in 1978. Its mission is to champion craft — making it, learning it, and supporting the people who do it. Its courses, workshops, makers’ studios, 100% UK-made craft shop, and café all contribute to a vibrant creative hub at the heart of Cirencester.
