Private Pottery Wheel and Glass Fusing 1-day Course

These are private classes for you as an individual or your own group so you get individual tuition. In this day course you also get lunch and refreshments provided - lunch is a buffet of ploughman's-type food.In this beginner-friendly craft day, approx 2.5 hours is on the pottery wheel with a wheel each with Chris where you will have the opportunity to make a few pots and then decorate them in a quick abstract design. In the approx 2.5 hour fused glass session you will have the opportunity to make a few items of your choice (options include jewellery, coasters, hanging panels, Christmas tree decorations and more). No artistic ability required for either!The one-off day course is ideal for people who want to learn the basic techniques of these 2 captivating crafts. If you become hooked (which we think you might do), your friendly teacher can talk you through the equipment needed to kickstart this fun and addictive hobby. Or, just come along and enjoy the creative experience either alone or with friends and family! What is glass fusing? Glass fusing is where layers of coloured glass are cut, often layered with other inclusions like glitter, metal, bubbles etc., put into a kiln and fused together to make items such as jewellery, coasters or decorative window hangings (like sun-catchers). The glass studio is equipped with a large range of coloured glass in different sizes and formats, various glitters and metal inclusions, kiln fibre, appropriate tools and safety equipment and an electric kiln. Don't consider yourself the arty or crafty type? Don't worry, your encouraging teachers will provide you with plenty of inspiration for designs!At the end of this 1-day combined craft workshop in Worcester, your pieces will be fired in the kiln and finished by your teacher after your class. They are usually ready for collection in approximately 3-4 weeks or you can arrange for postage at a small extra cost.Looking for gifts for her or him? This glass fusing workshop includes the glass materials and metal inclusions, jewellery fixings and the firing of your pieces: options include jewellery and either a sun-catcher or coaster and other smaller pieces too.The pottery workshop has 4 wheels, so 1 each. You will get a demo and a few tries at making your own pots with guidance! Then you can decorate the raw pots in a splash, marbling designs in blue, green or white.
