  • 5/5 from Jenni Barrow, attended Jul 2025: Great class, very well taught, really easy to follow, great fun.
  • 4/5 from Mary Gillespie, attended Jun 2025: We painted a kingfisher. Our tutor was very competent, patient and friendly and helped us through every stage. However, the class ran over by nearly an hour due to some attendees struggling with the subject matter. I found it relatively easy and fun as I paint for a hobby, but I think the painting was rather complex for beginners. Maybe this should be taken into consideration when planning subject matter for future classes? Also the tutor was busy clearing up and in a hurry as the class had ended so late and she didn’t stamp my loyalty card. How do I get a stamp added?
  • 4/5 from Tania Sutlieff, attended Jun 2025: My Mum's birthday present. It was fascinating following Holly's directions and ending up with something that actually resembled a kingfisher! It was great learning about blending and feeling confident enough to put bold colours on the canvas. Holly was very patient especially as one group decided to get something to eat which was probably the reason for it ending so late. Loved the whole experience but would suggest better time management if possible.
  • 3/5 from Mary Poulton, attended Jun 2025: Painting the Kingfisher at Kingfisher On The Quay was a challenging piece despite having attended various Brush Party events over the recent years. Chanell hosted to the best of her ability and tried her best to meet the needs of the entire group single handedly. Despite this the timing over-ran as she rightfully likes to ensure everyone leaves with a finished painting of which they can be proud. I feel this could have been much better by having someone to support Chanell with the basics as such as supplying paint as needed etc as has been usual practice of most Paint and Sip events I have attended in the past as recently as last six months so not sure if this is standard practice or just staff shortage on this particular event. I am hoping to attend more events and recommend others to do similar but not certain if they are going to be as fun or fulfilling being run on a budget basis ie. ration one person to almost 25+ people attending.
