- 5/5 from Katrina Evans, attended Oct 2026: Booked with a few friends. The activity did come highly recommended and did not disappoint. Very nice studio building to learn in. Our host Gem was a lovely warm person. She put you immed at ease. Tea, coffee and biscuits were offered as soon as you walked in. The fabrics for the lanterns were all on display and there were multiple choices of colours and patterns. The class was a nice steady pace, help was offered if needed, it was very relaxing. It was such a nice experience and i cant recommend Gem highly enough. After a lovely morning i came home with a stunning Vietnamese decorated lantern. It looks fab and im very happy with it. I would def visit Gem again for some of her other classes.

She has an amazing array of stunning fabric to choose from and a rainbow of coloured tassels to add as a finishing touch. All her resources are from Vietnam and it was so special to learn this beautiful traditional craft. Gem offered drinks and biscuits which were very welcome and it was such a relaxed environment in her lovely cabin where we shared stories of our travels and favourite crafts. We were so proud of what we had created and can't wait to return for another workshop!
