Full Instructions and Guidance Provided
Jacky will introduce you to the wonderful world of mosaic making, taking you through all the equipment, how to mosaic safely and how to use wheeled nippers.
Choose Your Colours
You'll start off by making your hanging heart, choosing from a wide selection of vitreous (swimming pool) tiles and beads.
Enjoy Your Making
Jacky will be on hand to offer design guidance and top tips. Watch your piece come to life, with plenty of unique touches!
Coaster Making
Once your heart is done (and after a well-earned tea break), you'll work on your unique coaster, refining your cutting technique.
Grouting
You'll learn how to grout -- and have a go by grouting your heart (the coaster stays ungrouted).
Final Steps
You'll choose ribbon to complete your hanging heart and carefully wrap your creations for taking home to dry and polish.

I discovered mosaic making over 20 years ago & have been hooked ever since! I find it calming, mindful and great for my wellbeing. I started teaching around 4 years ago, when I moved to Edinburgh (I'm now back in gorgeous Devon), and love sharing the joy of this great craft with others. I've taught students to make mosaic hearts, coasters, mirrors, plant pots, Christmas decorations, wreaths, butterflies.... My students tell me how relaxing and enjoyable they find my workshops - wellbeing through creativity is close to my heart. I make my practice as sustainable as possible, and particularly like workshops which involve using old china. Many of my students bring in precious broken cups, or old dishes they want to re-invent. It's so rewarding seeing something important given a new lease of life. I've exhibited my work in Edinburgh as part of an arts collective, sold many items and raised money for the St Columbas Hospice through the sale of mosaic pieces.
