2.5 hours Class size 1 to 8 guests

£30 - £36 (£30 for Concession; £36 for Full price) (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Explore colourful yarns and fascinating patterns as you dive into a satisfying and tactile craft in this weaving class. Ideal for beginners dipping their toes into textile arts for the first time, this is a fun Brighton activity for anyone looking to tap into their creative side.
Guided by an experienced weaver and supportive teacher, you will create a little woven piece that is perfect to hang on your wall. Learn how to attach the warp to your frame and finish off the weaving knotting or making a fringe.
There will be a choice of colours and textures you can add to your woven design, with help from your teacher to make it uniquely you. Keep your finished wall hanging for yourself, or give it to a loved one as a super unique gift.
You'll be picking up some simple weaving techniques in a bright and airy open-plan studio space in the heart of Brighton’s vibrant North Laine. But the fibre art fun doesn't have to end there! Frames will be available to buy if you wish to take one home and continue this crafty hobby from your sofa.
Concession tickets are available to under-25s, over 65s, and full-time unemployed (JSA, DLA, ESA).

Jackie Bennet

Jackie teaches weaving as an art form, exhibits and undertakes commissions internationally. She has been weaving for over 25 years and teaching for 15 years.

Jackie says: “tapestry weaving is definitely a slow art. It is also very rewarding as the process of weaving has a calming effect, using colour and texture in a direct, hands-on and creative way. Through my workshops, I like to encourage individual expression and the help personality of each weaver to come through”.
