3 hours Class size 1 to 8 guests       £25 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

In this 3-hour class, we will make a simple crocheted pumpkin, complete with leaves and tendrils. We start by making the pumpkin using chunky yarn, before joining it, adding stuffing, and then making a stalk, leaves, and tendrils to your preference. Because it uses chunky yarn, it works up quickly. This is a fairly simple project, requiring knowledge of basic crochet stitches. It is ideal if you have mastered the basics and would like to complete a 'real' project. Whilst the focus isn't on pattern reading, I will provide guidance with those as needed, as well as any other support needed throughout the session. You will receive a written pattern to take away so you can make some more at home if you wish. Why not come along and add some handmade joy to your autumn decor!
What you'll get
All materials, a handout, and refreshments (drinks and biscuits) are provided. Please let me know if you have any allergies or special dietary requirements.
Knowledge required
Basic crochet stitches include chains, double, treble, and half treble crochet.
What to bring

I live in Lincolnshire, England with my husband and two children and have a lifelong love of craft, from papercrafts to yarn and all sorts in between. I love nothing more than relaxing with my crochet and a cuppa with my family.
Before starting my crochet business in 2021, I was a primary school teacher (I have a BA Hons in Geography and Education Studies (2:1) and a PGCE). When I was made redundant, I seized the opportunity to follow my dreams and start my business. You only live once, something I’m acutely aware of having been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2019. (Thankfully I am in remission now though.)
I’m passionate about helping other people to learn and combining my teaching experience with my love of crochet brings me a great deal of joy. From beginner classes to more advanced techniques, I take care to work with my students to move their skills on, meeting them at their current level and planning appropriate next steps. I break things down into manageable chunks and adapt the pace of my sessions to the needs of students in it. I began teaching crochet 2 years ago and have taught over 30 people (many of my original students still attend my weekly class!)
As well as this, I am a crochet designer, with over 30 published patterns, including several for Crochet Now and Simply Crochet magazines. I also carry my teaching skills through to my work as a tech editor, where I support other crochet designers to polish their patterns ready for publishing. In 2025, I began working as a technical editor for Crochet Now magazine. Occasionally, I also support crochet designers by testing their patterns for them too.
When I’m not crocheting, you’ll find me either cheering on my son’s football team from the sidelines (wearing crochet of course!), gardening or doing DIY on the 1700s farm cottage which we moved into in early 2023. I’m never bored!
