Discover the timeless beauty of the Dresden Plate design in this enjoyable patchwork workshop, exploring how to create striking quilt blocks using machine piecing and appliqué.You'll learn how to construct the distinctive Dresden Plate wedges, with each wedge made from three carefully chosen fabrics. The clever arrangement of the fabrics creates a beautiful circular effect at the centre of each block, giving the finished design depth, movement and interest.Your tutor will guide you through the process of accurately piecing the wedges and assembling your Dresden Plate blocks before putting the blocks together.Choosing the right fabrics is an important part of achieving the best results. Rather than using strongly contrasting colours, fabrics that blend and complement one another tend to work particularly well with this design, creating a softer, harmonious effect. You'll be given guidance on fabric selection to help you get the most from your chosen materials.You can also explore using jelly roll strips as an alternative way of creating your wedges, making this a lovely opportunity to experiment with different fabric combinations.Whether you're looking to develop your machine piecing and appliqué skills or simply want to try a beautiful traditional quilt design with a fresh twist, this workshop will provide plenty of inspiration and practical guidance.Come along, enjoy a day of creative quilting and start creating your own beautiful Dresden Plate blocks!Good to know:The venue has parking. Upon arrival, park in the car park at the front of the shop. Unload your vehicle into your classroom. Staff will then advise you where to park your car for the day at the rear of the complex.There is disabled parking and there are ramps allowing access to all areas. There is a disabled toilet.Staff will help anyone in need of assistance. There is a shop on site selling an enormous range of goods relating to crafting: dressmaking, patchwork & quilting, knitting & crochet, sewing machines and furniture.There is a coffee shop on site called O for Coffee. Attendees at our classes are visited by coffee shop staff regularly throughout the day to take any orders. Anything consumed during your day is sold at a 10% discount. As well as a large choice of hot and cold drinks, the menu comprises savoury choices including sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes and soups. For those with a sweet tooth, there is a selection of cakes and scones made in-house with gluten-free and vegan options.Cancellation Policy:

• Should Tudor Rose Patchwork have to cancel a workshop you will receive a full refund.
• Should you wish to cancel your attendance on a workshop more than 30 days before the workshop date you will receive a refund less our £5 administration fee. Tudor Rose Patchwork may be able to transfer your booking to another date.
• Should you wish to cancel your attendance on a workshop less than 30 days before the workshop date, your payment will only be refunded if we are able to fill your place, less our £5 administration fee.
• Refunds will be made via the original payment method or can be taken in the form of goods or other workshops or group dates to the value of the refund being made.
• If a pattern is available for the workshop and no refund is available, Tudor Rose Patchwork will arrange for you to receive the pattern.
• Patterns are not available for workshops that you have not attended or paid for.
• Patterns remain the property of the tutor and should not be copied, passed on or used for teaching purposes without the permission of the tutor.
