Mosaic and Stained Glass Workshop

Get ready for a day of creative exploration at our one-of-a-kind workshop. In this immersive experience, you'll have the opportunity to learn two crafts - stained glass and mosaic - and bring them together to create a stunning heart artwork that will leave you in awe.First, you'll spend two and a quarter hours with Jo Snowdon, our talented studio neighbour who specializes in stained glass. Using the copper foil method, also known as the Tiffany technique, she'll teach you the basics of scoring and breaking glass, foiling your pieces, and soldering them together. No prior experience is necessary, and Jo has a wide selection of coloured glass for you to create a design in your favourite hues.Afterwards, it's my turn to guide you through the world of mosaics! Using the direct method, you'll learn how to plan a design, shape your tiles, and glue them together. We won't have time to grout during the workshop, but fear not - I'll give you a demonstration, and you'll even receive enough grout to finish your masterpiece at home. Don't worry if you're a beginner, as this class is suitable for all skill levels.Throughout the workshop, we'll provide you with all the materials you need to bring your heart artwork to life. You'll be working with glass, which may feel unfamiliar at first, but we'll be there to support and guide you every step of the way.
