Recent reviews of Fused Glass Coaster Workshop
- 5/5 from Michelle Thomas, attended Sep 2026: My daughter and I went along for her birthday and both really enjoyed it. We hadn’t known exactly what to expect but Cathy was very good at explaining and even though we hadn’t looked up ideas beforehand we soon came up with things and were pleased with the results. Everyone in the group was friendly.
- 5/5 from Samantha Froud, attended Sep 2025: Great fun and not too difficult. The hardest part was thinking of a design. Lovely venue and it was easy to find on street parking.
- 5/5 from Tillie Bluebell Conway, attended May 2025: Thank you so much! We loved the workshop and can't wait to puck up our designs! We will definitely be back! X
- 5/5 from Alun Wallace, attended May 2025: Fantastic workshop. Venue and teacher all good, Cathy very helpful and patient with me. Can't wait to return on another course
- 5/5 from Laura Rehman, attended Sep 2024: Wonderful session, throughly enjoyed. The teacher was very knowledgeable and approachable helping whenever required. The venue was easily accessible and comfortable with all amenities available.
- 5/5 from Lesley Edge, attended Apr 2024: This is now the 4th Glass By Design workshop I have attended and as usual, they are wonderfully well organised classes. Both Angelina and Cathy are fantastic hosts. I would describe myself as someone who is more enthusiastic than creative but with Cathy's patient support I think I might have created a coaster that I will be proud of. What I particularly like about their workshops is the relaxed, non-judgmental atmosphere. The encouragement you receive is great and they are very generous with their advice and suggestions. Getting to decorate the little bird was a much appreciated extra. This might have been my 4th workshop, it won't be my last.

Angelina and Cathy met by chance whilst selling their work in Penarth, Christmas 2013. Their shared love of all things glass saw them develop a friendship and continue to work together.Their first idea was to develop an Open Studio trail for any local artist/crafter during the annual Penarth festival that following summer. It has fast become an established part of the festival and is developing year on year. They then joined a designer-maker section in a local Penarth shop where their customer base was steadily growing. Customers embraced the idea of bespoke, locally made pieces, rather than mass-produced imported ones that have saturated the marketplace.Their next logical step was to be able to work on-site and pass their love of the process of hand-making in glass to others. Hence, Glass By Design was born.
